THE fashion limelight is now on Milan, as the city plays host to the next set of shows. Starting the proceedings with a bang is Gucci this morning, which we'll be lives treaming the moment the show starts. Next up today is Alberta Ferretti and No 21, followed by MaxMara and Emporio Armani tomorrow. Miuccia Prada is sure to see a packed-out venue for the Prada show later that evening as the fashion crowd vies to watch what is always one of the season's key and most influential catwalk offerings. From her bright bananas of spring/summer 2011 to the mosaic prints and oversized jewels of last season, Ms Prada dictates trends like no other.

On Friday, Moschino, Just Cavalli and Etro will take morning slots, while Versace and its sister line, Versus, will take centre stage that afternoon - with the latter featuring a star performance from Beth Ditto.

The weekend begins with Uniqueness, Bottega Veneta and Karl Lagerfeld's latest offering for Fendi, before Jil Sander that afternoon, when its eponymous founder will unveil her first womenswear collection since returning to the brand in February this year.

Italian mainstays Dolce & Gabbana, Missoni, Salvatore Ferragamo and Giorgio Armani will show on Monday, ahead of DSquared and Roberto Cavalli who wrap up Milan Fashion Week on Tuesday. Hopefully, Cavalli will have calmed down by then - he recently took to his blog to vent about "Little King Armani", who changed his traditional final-day show slot to Sunday - leaving Cavalli concerned that guests would usurp his catwalk event to make their way to Paris instead.
