Thanks for this. Im thinking healthcare will be the next 'hospitality' for Owerri. Ill be very happy to see that with all of the modern hospitals sprouting up

More are actually being built, is a bright future for health sector in imo state, but it's exorbitant

Ikengawo aka ofodirinwa, instead of you to focus on discussing your failed imo state but you are busy spewing your usual unfounded lies.

Stop comparing Onitsha and your glorified village called OWERRI that's littered with dilapidated roads and filthy environment.

Onitsha is by far better developed and advanced than your local backward OWERRI that no reasonable person dares to relocate to.

Onitsha has more graduate jobs than Owerri can ever have even in the next 100yrs.

The number of banks in Onitsha is thrice bigger than all the banks in the entire Imo state.

Millions of imo indigenes ran to Onitsha for greener pasture, why are they not staying back in the glorified village called Owerri? There's absolutely nothing nothing in Owerri except brothels and commercial sex hawkers.

Owerri and Aba are the two worst towns in Igboland and Southern Nigeria at large, both towns have the worst roads ever in the region and southern Nigeria in general.

Owerri is highly an unliveable jungle, that's why imo indigenes are running to nearby economically viable and liveable cities of Onitsha and Port Harcourt. The population of imo indigenes living in Onitsha are more than the population of imo indigenes living in Owerri. This is a stark reality.

Owerri is a failed town because even imo indigenes would rather go to Onitsha, PH or Enugu to invest than ever investing in OWERRI except it is brothel.

No sane person would want to relocate to Owerri except the person is a commercial sex hawker.

Imo state human capitals are being drained by Onitsha and PH, this is because Owerri is a useless worthless backward shithole town that produces only students that eventually leaves the town on graduation, leaving a ghost town behind in search of greener pastures in Lagos, PH, Onitsha, Warri, etc.

Have you wondered why real investors don't go to Imo state? It is because there's no enabling environment. You are bitter that Owerri cannot match any city in Anambra, even small Nnewi has far bigger economy than Owerri.

What do you have in imo state that can be compared to the ones in Anambra? Are you gonna compare the motorpark airport in imo to the worldclass international airport in Anambra? Are you gonna compare glorified secondary school called IMSU to the top grade COOU-Anambra? Or are you gonna compare the poultry farm called IMSUTH to the world rated COOUTH-Awka? What about the over rated secondary school called FUTO, are you gonna compare it to great UNIZIK?What about general infrastructures, your state doesn't come close at all. I can go on and on. Comparing Anambra to your useless imo state, is like comparing America to Uganda. Envious bitter frustrated fellow,

Charity begins at home.

Ofordirinwa, aka ikengawo, is a native of Awomamma, a few miles from Orlu.

Modern development and urban expansion of Owerri will never go beyond the Okatankwo bridge which separates Owerri from Oru in Orlu senatorial zone.

So long as Orlu urban LGA remains reduced to rural area status by self-serving governors of Imo state since 2011, Oru area, shall continue to remain stagnant. Because urban expansion goes from the urban centres to the rural areas, never vice versa.

It's like Ofordirinwa does not like modern development in his Orlu/Oru area of Imo state, but gets mirred in modern development and urban expansion of Owerri.

Imo state of only Owerri with modern development and rapid urban expansion, is a let down to the better informed people in Imo state.

Bigots with an agenda to cause a climate of fear and insecurity in Igboland are either going about committing these sickening crimes or making them up and then spreading the news/videos all over social media!

Are there criminals in Igboland? Of course there are! But when you read reports on criminality in the south-east....especially on threads started by certain disgusting characters on this forum, use your head when absorbing the information they're putting out! Igboland has not been known for cannibalism, and then all of a sudden in the past few weeks, there's been reports upon reports of cannibalism in Igboland...some with the 'culprits' proudly announcing that they're ESN/IPOB!

Everyday, Priceless and Market Square are seriously upgrading and expanding. If our open markets don't evolve, they will eventually die a natural death.

Going to Alaba Naze is a nightmare, same applies to Ahia Rochas or Eke Onuwa and it has made many people to be patronizing these malls.

Once Everyday begins their 24 hours operations, others that are strategically located will follow suit and before long, Owerri would become like modern cities that doesn't sleep cool
Obowo, Orlu, Umuaka, etc in Imo state have government-built markets that suffer same road disadvantages like the markets built by government in Owerri.
Do you ever think that those other markets outside Owerri deserve good roads as well? Must every succeding governor of Imo state continue with reconstruction of roads in Owerri, while these other places in Imo state outside Owerri collapse?

Yaa, I shall do that latter; IGBOSON1. One ProudIgbo started this thread about pictures of modern development in IMO STATE, before the thread was hijacked by miscreants who believe that Imo state is Owerri with its development process. The miscreants would even frown at any government development outside Owerri in Imo state.

It's only an Igbo suffering self-defeat who would believe that obviously cooked-up story of cannibalism in Orsu LGA of Imo state.

We were once told that Ngwa people in Igbo land ate human flesh, but that's a century past story.

Nice job done here. Like the working traffic-lights and railings installed on the sidewalks.....and those railings look like the real deal too! It's safe to say the quality of public works done presently are a vast improvement on what Rochas did during his tenure!

That nonsense is a block of flats not a university. I passed there recently and it is a mess now. If you wanna know how a modern university looks like then visit Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University to see how expansive a university should look like with network of well paved roads and sidewalks, etc. That thing in ideato is more or less like a small estate of blocks of flats.

Chino,
Ha ha ha. I laugh like this lady you uploaded her photo here.
Move down to Europe to see 3 to 4 high rise buildings as the only building infrastructures in some famous universities there.
You might be having eyes on Zik's UNN with its massive land area.

Nice, but i hope these aren’t recent as there’s still no tree in sight! Remember seeing some of those structures during the Rochas years.

One thing university communities are known for (esp’ first generation ones like UNN and UI) is having lots of trees....they help give the environment a calming atmosphere, as well as soak up carbon dioxide!

Unfortunately, two prominent traditional chiefs of Owerri were kidnapped yesterday.
It's no more Oru/Orlu/Orsu axis affair where politicians hibernating in Owerri must have believed the mayhem would be restricted to.

Don't bother, some people prefer to duel in self deceit and denial, the will never agree so far as it goes against their preferred bias point of view. Maybe when one of their relatives becomes a victim, then their opinion might change, Everytime blame Fulani, DSS, bunch of cowards that are too afraid to own up to their exploits.
