soe:
guy be enlightened, visit the zoo and see...u would learn that one feature of a crocodile is dat u dont know its on its way until it shoots out..many atimes in d zoo....we start wondering if dis crocodile is still alive or not..until it moves on..atimes u dont notice it has relocated until u search again...so forget man...no need for ripples
You r right...but datz only if this pic is real aye?... grin grin grin

People too like follow follow here, bandwagon mentality.
If its not illuminati, its photoshoped.
Don't we have crocodiles in nigeria? Crocodiles can stay underneath water for up to 2 hrs without breathing, can float like a log and swim noiselessly without wake like someone said before.
Crocodiles are in canals even in cities and I don't know the big deal about it being seen in flooded place, the crocodile may just be stationary and that's how they look like log in the water.
People post phoney images online, but we shouldn't just be one way thinkers that shout photoshoped without good reason.
I guess watching national geographic or documentaries would teach people a few things about nature.

Menendez: At least you can do better by making up sme water trails (It's called "wake" in science) while ur crocodile is in motion....that will make more sense.....cnt believe pple actually fell for this already........sorry but try harder nxt time.

For real!
Re: A Crocodile Found In Flooded Parts Of Benue (Picture) by kayjegs: 8:23pm On Sep 26, 2012
It could be real, who says it cant be real. Moreso, I dont know if it is photshopped or not, but trying to check if theere are ripples or not around the crocodile is mere misleading. As a Zoologist, a croc can even remain still just like that, and when it also moves, you may not see ripples like you think you would see. Because of their body shape and scales, they dont make any disturbance when moving in water. You cant know if a fish is swimming just beneath a water surface because of the shape and scales as well.
With incessant floodings and so on, animals are being displaced. We have had cases of reptiles especially of turtles that have been displaced, so who says this isnt possible. And mind you, there are crocs in those areas..Benue, Kaduna, Oyo State and so on. So dont just doubt it. But we need another witness anyway....

Even if the croc stays still for a long time, as long as there are wave patterns the waves are bound to hit against the body of the still croc and break pattern.
Look at the wave patterns, that body of water isn't absolutely still so you can see the waves. The wave pattern around the croc in that pic is continuous around the croc like the croc wasn't even there.

This is not real.
