It is time Nigerians invest in drainage for every street and local areas. Local and state govenment can help but residence should be major contributor to the project to ensure it gets done.

Drainage is an issue yes, but this thing goes beyond drainage. How many cities now have experienced flooding? We need to look at flood control measures and invest in that as well.

ndu_chucks: when were those dams on the Niger river built and when did Asaba become an entity?

kainji was built in 68 i should think, though there seems to have been a previous one called niger dam before then.

what we do know is there was a big resettlement of people who were displaced by the dam.

bussa, where mungo park died, is currently underwater and a new town was built to replace the old one- not sure when.
