Bianca’s quit notice, an abomination -Okwuosa

What a shame, I was expecting all parties to work things out amicably.

The feud in the family of the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu over the sharing of the property of their father, Sir Louis Ojukwu, took another dimension yesterday with a top confidant of the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Sir Hon. Azuka Okwuosa, accusing Ikemba's siblings of committing abomination by giving his widow, Bianca, a quit notice from the late husband's residence less than a year after his demise.

Okwuosa, who is an ex-chairman of Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, told newsmen in Awka, the state capital, that by their actions, Ikemba's siblings, especially his nephew, Dr. Ike Ojukwu, have shown an inconsequential quest for materialism, which their late brother was not known for.

He wondered why they were so much in a hurry to go after the five property in the custody of Ikemba, out of over 38 scattered all over Lagos, Port Harcourt and Onitsha, stressing that they should have exercised patience and waited for Ikemba's will to be read.

The former commissioner for Works and Transport said that by asking their brother's widow, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, to quit the 29, Queens Drive, Ikoyi, Lagos home when she was still mourning her husband was a taboo in Igboland and warned them to retrace their steps or incur the wrath of the land.

Okwuosa, who was reacting to recent interviews by Dr. Ike Ojukwu, said for insulting his uncle's widow, Bianca, Dr. Ojukwu had shown that he never even had any respect for the late Ikemba.

He said Dr. Ojukwu, being a member of the third generation in the family, had no right to speak about the said property of Sir Louis Odumegwu Ojukwu when his (Dr. Ike) father, Professor Joseph Ojukwu, and Ikemba's wife were alive.

The Ikemba's confidant and associate said: "I found it nauseating. What the young man is trying to do is to tarnish the name of the family and the reputation Ikemba built for many years. We expect the elders from both family and community to call him to order. He should watch his utterances. We do not oppose having issues in the family, but where I will take exception is when Ojukwu's name is being rubbished.

"His father is in a better position to call him to order. He claims that Emeka Ojukwu (Jnr.) is in support of what he is doing, Emeka is an adult who can speak for himself. He should stop dropping names.

"I want to believe that Ike Ojukwu was quoted out of context, but if he was not, he was far from the truth on the issue of property. He is talking about five properties out of over 38 of them. The late Ikemba Nnewi was instrumental to the recovery of those property, including 29, Queens Drive, Ikoyi, which had been abandoned in those years when he came back from Ivory Coast, through the instrumentality of his lawyer, the great late Chief Rotimi Williams (SAN).

"Bianca has not finished mourning the husband, my mentor. I find everything absurd. The family should go into sober reflection and they should wait for the will to be released. Anybody who insults the wife of Ojukwu, Ndigbo will not take it lightly with that person."

I thought this culture already ended.

Would they treat her as if she was a piece of igbe dudu way if her husband was alive?

People are simply wicked. Her children needs to fight them!! House/properties/ possessions are always inherited by wife/children.

if Ojukwu is the first son, then she has every right to claim her husband's property! And what do u mean by personal property? Who is Ojukwu's niece to interfere in the matter? He has no right to give Bianca quit notice! A house she has been living before her husband's demise? Why didn't they chase her when her husband was still alive? She should fight for her right abeg!

Unfortunately the late husband possessed no property of his own, they are all inherited from their father and the remaining children did not want those properties to be passed on to Biancar. If Biancar has no child for the war lord and eventually claim those properties that will be a slap and a big material lost to the family and the family will regret it late.

Again, If Biancar has no child for the war-lord then she is not part of Ojukwu family and she is not going to be one. no DNA connection. She has gained by using Ojukwu connection to be became Ambassador, that is enough for her.

But if she has a child for the man then let her go to court!

of course she has kids for her husband.Ojukwu has children from another woman too.even if she didn't have kids, you mean she isn't entitled to any property?

Ojuku don suffer ooo

A mans irresponsible behaviour follows him to the grave. when a grown ass warlord was chasing pre-pubescent Biancar all over and molesting her little did he know that after his death his estate would be the subject of so much fight

If only he hadnt been such a paedophile

Well said. A lot of people don't get it. The properties in question all belonged to Late Sir Louis Ojukwu. Can you people in support of Bianca get this into your heads. All she could do is to plead or ask for more time and I am pretty certain they would listen. The reason behind the manner this is being handled is from the perceived stubbornness of Bianca, trying to act as if her late Husband owned everything. I know Dr. Ike, his Dad (Professor Joseph Ojukwu) and other siblings, these people are open to working with her but this constant media outburst of using her lawyer or spokesperson to continue to speak ill of the family will not go well with her. It would only make them to want to teach her a lesson.

Reasonable comment but keep in mind for clarification: Ojukwu never never never owned any property all through his existence, I know this might sound rather too harsh but its the fact. All he enjoyed or the properties being debated belonged to his late father, Sir Louis Ojukwu. So the properties are family properties.

Can you please go and research Ojukwu family before you comment. Most people commenting here have facts. Ikemba Ojukwu was not the first son. Professor(DR.) Joseph Ojukwu is the first son. Get your facts right and no room for guessing "if".

I wish Bianca can apply wisdom in this matter and move out of that property with her kids. Not out of cowardice but wisdoms. It's obvious her inlaws wanted it. Only the living celebrate, and I belief she is rich enough to maintain a decent lifestyle on her own.

The late Ojukwu(may his soul rest in peace ) had over 38 properties scattered all over Nigeria...hmmmnnnnnn!!!

I tot he spent all his money to defend his people in the civil war he orchestrated !!!

38 properties is like a ratio of one house in each state of d federation plus 2 more!!!

He really loved his people. IKEMBA NNEWI

As for Bianca, she brought this on herself so no pity for her. She just lost her husband and is supposed to be lying low till at least a year according to custom instead of rushing to the press every now and then. She can't win in court and she knows that.

Point of correction: The 38 properties belonged to Sir Louis Ojukwu; Ikemba Ojukwu's father who was a very, extremely wealthy man in his time. He, Ikemba didn't spend his money. He usurped the properties/monies of his siblings passed on to them by their late father to financed the war. And No, he didn't love his people, millions of Igbos were killed for his selfish agenda and he absconded out of the Country. If he really and genuinely loved his people, he would have stay in the country and die for his people as did Gaddafi. Honestly, the prestige he is held to by igbos isn't deserved at all, in my judgement. For all igbos who haven't studied deeply into the civil war, go and do so and get a first hand knowledge of what happened.
