Is ovious and painful, realizing how about 70% of Nigerians studying abroad are bringing shame to their parents and Nigeria at large. I have personaly try to advice many of them here in Cairo and Malaysia, but seems the situation is getting worse. most Nigerian students abroad abundant their primary assignment. and embrace drugs and other social activities. most of the schools in the middle east and Asia are now tired of Nigerian students for jumping from one university to another due to poor academics performance, with out their parents knowing. many of their international passport have been hijacked by cars rental agencies due to accidents. as is very cheap to rent a car in middle east and Asia. I think Nigerian government should introduce a policy, whereby students should undergo drug and aptitude test before allowing them to study abroad. that will not only save Nigeria from disgrace but will help the Nigerian parents who spend millions of naira sending their children to study abroad.

I dont think this is the right option. The only thing that will save Nigeria from disgrace is when the Nigerian Government will decide to build universities with very high international standards in Nigeria. Why spend millions of naira sending childrens to study abroad when we know that we just have to create good conditions for education right here in Nigeria?.

Undergoing drug and aptitude test before sending students abroad isn't a criteria to guarantee good morals and conduct abroad. It's just that most Nigerians already develop this fraudulent mindset of Making fast money rather than studying on arrival.

u are on point.
Their quest for fast money exposes them into deviant and eccentric practices such as doing drug business thereby abandoning their main purpose of traveling abroad .Also have in mind that they are still students and have limited tendencies of making genuine fast money. Their main priority should be to study and come back and grow our economy with the knowledge they have acquired abroad. Combining education and making money could make majority of them indulge into such practices and go astray.

The Nigerian government cannot implement such a policy because most government officials ARE ON DRUGS themselves.
In foreign countries. . . doing drug is not a prerequisite for admission. . .as MOST, IF NOT ALL students have experimented on on one kind of drug or another. . . .AND STILL EXCELLED. Only places of employment can implement such rules.

The MAIN reason MOST NIGERIANS end up as 'buka sellers' or 'tazi-drevas' or 'business men and women' abroad.
