ikeyman00:

this is not about wether Achebe lost credibility i think its about facing the fact

ur credible man awofrog committed war crime and should be allowed to face justice living or dead

justice is justice

simple as that; full stop; this is not about who lick Tinubu balls most u know

this isnt rocket science, going by all the evidence from the british, the on lookers, ur awo statement, the white people; the soldiers that fought the war; cross-examing the credible evidence u will agree a crime has be committed; simple as that and ur man should be hang in Hague

should Biafra has to rise then the British got a case to worry ! cuz they played their role as well

make no mistake awo frog deserve to be fried up in jail wether he is loved by Yoruba shouldnt be an issue cuz this is the way Serbians in the Balkan loves their man

it is because of people like you that these animals bash yoruba. how i wish i can b*itch slap you p*.ussy whipped. your parents must regret the day you were born cos ibo asewo has repeatedly beaten your head with some dirty p*anties to the extent that you don't know what time it is, OMO ALE. ibos call yoruba women names, all you said is to make ibo women feel important. may that woman in your life stab in your sleep.

Awo was not on biafra side, so how could he have betrayed you? one thing you don't know is that speaking ill of the dead especially the way they exited the world is something you don't want to lie about. Lying that Awolowo ate rat poison can shorten your life. I know you feel invisible but when the trouble comes you are going to start calling on the blood that warned you in the first place. write it down you are going to be hunted big time.
Ngodigha1:
Awo's daughter should be more disappointed about her father's betrayal and sudden swallow of rat powder.
Re: Awolowo's Daughter To Achebe: We Are Disappointed by whitecat007: 7:31am On Oct 10, 2012
why the absurd comparison? one was assassination and the other was war. ibos, always going in circle. Hmmnn!! Could it be that you ibos don't know any better for real?
kettykin: If all is really fair in War how come Almustapha and other Abacha Hit men are being held for killing MKO Abiola's wife and other NADECO chieftains who breached the constitution of Nigeria by declaring MKO the winner of an inconclusive election, a highly treasonable crime.

Your stupidity is so sticky it can hold a boulder in the air. what can i say if you did not see the part where he went to school in the evening. why will any one go to school after work back in those days if he didn't know the importance of education. Ha ibos!!!
kettykin:

Awolowo worked 8 years as motor park tout aka agbero and went to evening school.

How can someone who went to an evening school and worked partly as a motor park tout give what he does not have Education to yourbas , little wonder that despite their education and not having been throu genocide or through marginalisation has not been able to leverage with those whom he tried wiping out through genocide and those who have been exploited

Enough of the insults folks!

Let us sit down and negotiate a peaceful split.

Nigeria is not conducive for us.
If we don't have the balls to do it, then let us invite the whiteman who mis-amalgamated us, to come and dis-amalgamate us.

Cheers to all.

iboland is the modern day sodom and gomorrah with all sins that are known to men, the gay and lesbian capital of nigeria.
If you are not brain dead you will know that more ibos have been killed by the north everywhere in nigeria more than all other tribes combined. Hausas do not call us names as soon they fill their stomach with akpu and are threatening to drive us out of our land, so ibos are our bigger enemy than Hausas.
We are calling your bluff now and also waiting for an opportunity to strike. The whole war is watching you ask for this, so no mercy. Half of ibos in lagos will die, the ibos in other SW states will leave before the fight only to go and die on the highway. My goodness, ibos who remain in SW if these things get out of hand will be food for the gods. There is so much hate now unlike 1967, as you know the people overkill during the fight of passion. keep running your mouth coward as you will be the first to bolt like your warlord who boasted to the world and later dressed in Yoruba attire to flee and left his people to their fate.

You don't have to convince us; we are mere spectators. The folks that needed to be convinced in 1966 weren't convinced and decidedly took revenge 6 months later. They knew the ethnic composition of the victims and saw how it differed strangely from the composition of the plotters. tongue

You igbo cocroaches will not Sieze to to amaze one, it seems you people are so bereft of wisedom that you all sleep facing one direction. What you and your senile children novelist do not know is that the untruth he wrote is tantamount to treason against the yoruba nation. Your clamouring for war will lead only to regrets that Awolowo will not be around to help you people cleanup. Enough is enough. You can't eat your cake and have it. It was your impulsive warlord Ojukwu who lead you badly into the problems you experienced during the war. He has never apologised to his fellow igbos neither to the nation. Anyway that is history now, but that this time around you people will go away with your wicked ways, think again. Awolowo did what he had to do as the finance minister and Nigeria never went into debt throughout his stewardship. If you people choose to be dreaming and leave in the past kindly don't drag anyone with you, that's a choice you made by declaring war on a sovereign state, take the consequence that come along as part of the choices. I think the yorubas are too pleasant to a fault that's why you could even write these lies in the first place. Why did the professor write about the killings in the north whether it will see the daylight. Your professor his broke and he want to write something to generate controversies and sensation for money making. I hope the money he might have made will be enough payment to undo all the trouble he'll not only cause himself but his dimwit kinsmen. Typical of Ibos person agrandisement and lust after money. If they are so bitter why don't they go back to Biafra no one will fight them for this.

The Millitary Government
under Gen. Ibrahim Badamosi
Babaginda was so convinced
that Obafemi Awolowo was a

refused giving Awo a national burial and the Yorubas never

Ojukwu was giving that rubbish burial because Nigerian remains a lawless country ruled by worthless and lawless people. Ojukwu should have been killed like they do in sane and lawful countries talk less letting him back into the country, giving him pensions, letting him contest for elected office in the same country he tried to ruin and giving him any kind o burial.

Nigeria giving ojukwu any form of burial is nothing to be proud of, it only showed us how useless and pathetic your country is.

Where is the honor for ZIK today? His burial ground is below rubbish, snakes and lizards.

People from in and outside Nigeria including your useless leaders visits Awolowo's compound (Efunyela Lodge in Ikene) everyday to show honor and respect, tell me who pays ZIK's family any visit and if they do, tell me where? His refuse dump burial ground?

I keep telling you losers, you can not win this battle because losing is yours as usual....

God Bless you my brother, they dot every nooks and crannies of Lagos and south western states and they have every opportunity for free enterprise and they've made money, built houses, marry(almost at no cost- remember what marriage is like in their culture) yoruba women, they've enjoyed magnanimous establishment in a land that doesn't belong to them. An average Igbo's sense of judgement and Morality gives me dismay and sadness.
Re: Awolowo's Daughter To Achebe: We Are Disappointed by Iveanyi: 2:14pm On Oct 14, 2012
Giving the amount of resentment for the Igbo, what always surprises me is why they were not allowed to leave the union when they wanted to - 1967 to 1970. I mean if a lousy person is trying to move out of his neighbourhood for instance, I doubt if his neighbours would go to great lenghts to prevent it.

Secondly, I'd like to point out something pertaining to the sequence of events preceding the civil war. I find that people always say Biafra/Ojukwu went to war. This I think to be quite misleading. If my studies on the issue are anything to go by, Nigeria actually declared war on Biafra.

Igbos were being attacked especially in the North which resulted in their fleeing en masse to the east. This mass unplanned influx gave rise to unemployement, inflation, insufficient food and housing, etc. in the east. The unitary system of government introduced by the Ironsi regime to mitigate a recurrence of the events leading to the Jan 1966 coup was still in place. Meaning that the Eastern Government as well as every other regional government still depended heavily on the Central Government - which was in Lagos at the time - for 'handouts'.

With it's new found problems, these 'handouts' which were not augmented in line with the increasing need, became insufficient. Hence, a case for increased resource control was made. The Central Government would have none of this. It became imperative to have serious dialogue on the matter as well as on security and other issues affecting Nigeria such as the rights of non-indigenes and settlers in any region.

Consequently, the Ghanaian Leader Lt. Gen Ankrah invited his Nigerian counterparts to Aburi in Ghana to have this meeting. The meeting was held on the 4th and 5th of January, 1967. There were and still are allegations that the Central Government did not live up to the decisions taken at Aburi. This in addition to the increased pressure from the region he represented caused Ojukwu to take the decision to opt out of the Nigerian State. Thus, declaring the State of Biafra on the 30th of May, 1967.

The Nigerian Government launched what it termed "Police Measures" to annex Biafra on the 6th of July, 1967. Now I don't know wether the expectation of the Nigerian Government at the time and a lot of people today, was for the Biafrans who had begun to administer a nation for over a month to say " ok boys, the Nigerians are here. Let's hand over our Leader and everybody in Government to 'em and we'll all go home and enjoy a nice picnic with our wives n lil' ones." Well, that didn't happen. The bid to defend their newfound nationhood led to what we know today as the Nigerian Civil War.

In summary, Ojukwu did not declare war on Nigeria. He declared an independent state of Biafra. Nigeria attempted to annex Biafra. Biafra repelled these attempts. A war was born!
