Edo State which was usually known as a focal point for infrastructural development in Nigeria has suddenly become a place where democracy has been completely brutalized and dictatorship idolized.

In the last couple of weeks, it has been nothing but verdict over the counter given by a governor whose mandate was stolen but retrieved by '"due process". The governor has left all construction process on hold and directed all his energy at intimidating state workers. So far, the Governor has dismissed over 20 teachers in the state for an act he labeled "lackadaisical attitude of some teachers to work".

In the same vein, at an interactive session with Permanent Secretaries, Senior Education Inspectors at Government house, the governor dismissed all 41 of them. He gave the directive in the most undemocratic manner, as if he was a judge or something. That was the height of the governor's dictatorship.

One would expect that Mr. Oshiomole who regained power through the law would follow due process in all his actions. Unfortunately, that seems not to be the case, as Edo State is run by one man. He draws the
