JTF Destroys assets valued N187.8 Million in Borno State


The latest Nigerian news today revealed that the Joint Military Task Force (JTF) activities in Borno State is believed to have led to destruction of property worth over N187.8m in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, revealing these news to Nigerian
by a committee report.
The committee which submitted the report had been set up by the Borno State Government to assess the damages, allegedly caused by operatives of the Joint Military Task Force, (JTF ) in Gwnage ward.

The committee, presenting the report to Nigeria news desk on Monday to Governor Kashim Shettima, chairman of the committee, Baba Bashir Garbai said the breakdown of the report indicated that 142 houses/ shops, 21 vehicles and 14 tricycles were destroyed in the incident. Garbai said the committee has carried out its assignment with fairness and justice.

However, sources to news buffet confirmed that Governor Kashim receiving the report, commended members of the committee for a well done job, promising to commence payment of compensation to the victims to minimize their sufferings. According to the governor,
"Government is delighted with your work, I assure that before the end of the week, we will purchase vehicles and distribute to those that lost their own in the incident Governor Kashim Shettima stated".
