Gravel mining process
To "reclaim" an open pit sand or gravel mining site, the operator must grade the pit walls down to no steeper than a 3:1 slope, replace any removed topsoil
on the slopes, and seed the slopes in order to reestablish grasses. They must also clean up the site by removing any debris or other trash left at the site as a by-product of the mining process. Each individual site may have a custom reclamation plan.
But what about "in-stream" mining sites? In general, in-stream operators are not required to reclaim their sites because it is assumed that the river will
eventually wash over the site and reclaim it. However, the same clean-up requirements applied to open pit sites also apply to in-stream sites.

Platinum beneficiation process
Extremely low grade platinum ore can't be used in metallurgical plants and needs to be up graded to improve the platinum content and decrease the gangue content. A procedure adopted to upgrade ore is known as beneficiation. Several techniques such as washing sand machine, jigging, magnetic separation, advanced gravity separation and flotation are being employed to enhance the quality with the platinum ore. Because of the high density of platinum relative to silicates, beneficiation usually involves a mixture of crushing and milling also as heavy liquid separation. This is achieved by passing the finely crushed ore more than a bath of answer containing bentonite or other agent which increases the density of the answer. When the density with the solution is correctly calibrated, the platinum will sink and the silicate mineral fragments will float and can be removed.
