Please what will you do if a needy brother approaches you with a pressing need and the only cash you have at hand have been earmarked for tithing?

It will depend on the situation, if its between life and death.
If its to save life, give it to the brother or the person and make sure you look for another money as soon as you can to pay the tithes

However, if its just because the person is hungry or basic need like cloths, then pay your tithes first and help the person later.

LUKE 13: 10-17

10 And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.

11 And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.

16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

In the first instance as a christian you are not oblige to tithe. If you must it should be entirely discretionary and not under any obligation. So if you hae a brother in need, i would advice you give to assist him as the good book says that giving to the needy is the same as giving to God.

Christians might not be obligated to tithe following the new covenant, but if you've promised God a portion of your income as thanksgiving you'd be better off keeping it.

Well according to Jesus you can give to God through giving to those in need around us. So you can still keep your promise to God by giving to those in need.

How can the person have only his tithe. what of his feeding, transportation and other exp that he will have to do. he can starve na...why cant he use his transport money to help the brother.
