All Nigerians both on home soil or Abroad, Is it necessary to call your coworkers ( Nigerian ) aunty or bros if you meet them at work especially when it's obvious they are older than you especially when you are in a higher position .

How do you address them?

Pls share your views and opinions. Thank you.

Use Mr or Mrs + their first names or surnames.

Some companies have it as their policy not to add any prefix - e'one is called by their names. However, taking cognizance of the Nigerian culture that emphasizes respect (and a situation where the organization/company has no such policy), it's safe to add the Mr/Miss/Mrs prefix before the surname.

In the civil service, you go hear "broda", "sista", "chief", "pastor", "alfa", "PS", "S.A" etc as our people take exception if you fail to give them the recognition they 'deserve' especially if you're aware.

In the academia, do not fail to use 'Dr' where the person is a PhD holder and when such person is a professor, do not make the mistake of degrading the person. Dis is Naija.
