Security consultant, Olatubosun Abolarinwa has described Major General Muhammadu Buhari’s failure to speak for Boko Haram as a “bit of shock” to him. Considering the devastating impact the
insurgency staged by the sect has had on the
northern part of the country and the nation
as whole, Mr Abolarinwa opined that
negotiation is a key part of curbing terrorism. Boko Haram had earlier in the week named
General Buhari amongst the team that will
speak for it in a planned negotiation with the
federal government, ahead of a ceasefire. But the offer was rejected by the former
military Head of state, who claimed he does
not know anything about the group nor does
he believe in their ideology. The security consultant who was a guest on
Sunrise Daily from our Abuja studio stated
that the Retired Major-General should give
more explanations on why he wants more lives
to be lost in the country via the bombings and
attacks by the sect, noting that thousands of Nigerians, ranging from children to adults
have been killed in the last three years of the
insurgency.

General Buhari may be right, do you represent someone you do not know as a person, you do not no his ideology, even a bank will say dont introduce someone you do not know, does any lawyer just wake up without knowing an accussed and say he wants to defend him. Lets be logical and stop been emotional or sentimental.If i tell you to go and represent at a meeting,will you just pick your bag and go? Lets reason before we talk. The Federal government has said times without number that they Know does behind it,why dont they arrest and prosecute them, instead of trying hard to smear someone else with it.
