Evening, good people of Nairaland. @Femi4, I've a problem using an mtn fastlink modem I just bought on my HP mini 2102. The modem interface opens but the modem won't recognize any sim card, not even the primary sim card (this isn't an unlocking issue as I am not after that yet) I found out that there are some drivers missing from my system, and all my efforts to install these drivers proved abortive. I downloaded Driver.4.25.10.00 but I couldn't extract it to its appropriate folder... perhaps I didn't do some things right. I'll appreciate your sincere response(s) to get this problem resolved. It is a Huawei modem E303s-1. Btw, the modem works properly when I installed it on a friend's laptop.

Abi o, I have 2mtn modems E303 the 1st one i unlocked it with #1,500 2ru a guy in my area, I later took the 2nd modem to the same guy who also claim that I will have to pay #1,500 and I pleaded to pay 1000 or 1200 due to the fact that av been his customer bt d guy refuse and I decided to abadon d modem 4 unlocking it was later that i discoved nairaland. I requested 4 d unlocking code and within 2hrs femi provided it here freely and it work. Personally i decide to compesate dou i didnt av much wt me then bt i send a token of #200 airtime to him. They are using their time and materials 4 u people and u all know the worth of their services. Even if they did nt request bt at least we ought to b able 2 compesate them. @femi kudos to u jare.

A new laptop! and you ve started experiencing missing drivers, thats strange. Are you sure that laptop is new and the OS is genuine?

Not a new laptop, but a new Huawei modem. Bit 32 Windows 7 starter.
