Hello, my name is Solomon..
Am an intending corper waiting to serve around june 2(Batch A 2nd Stream). I was posted to Akwa-Ibom for my youth service. Akwa-Ibom being a part hub of oil resources in South Nigeria is a good place to be especially for me but the main problem i am having is the issue of finding a reputable firm/company for my place of primary assignment. I intend to further my education in University of Aberdeen studying a petroleum course(Petroleum Energy Economics & Finance) in Aberdeen, UK.
I think serving in an oil & gas firm will go a long way in boosting my chance of being admitted because; Firstly, It will give me an insight on how the petroleum sector looks and work like, Secondly, After serving in an petroleum firm, The complexity of the course workload will just be an added advantage etc.Though i still intend to come back after my MSc abroad...
My plea is to find someone who can link me up with oil firm/coys that can accept my proposal to join their company in good faith and trust me money is not my primary motive but experience and expertise. Thanks as i anticipate the help i need.

Hello @scantee
Firstly I will start by stating that I am a bit
confused right now as I am about rounding up my
B.sc programme ( NOUN).
So my brother. I ask for reasonable advice on the
right career part to choose from. I had to go
through part-time for financial reasons. Being
that I was solely responsible for my financial
expenses in school. So I had to multi-task.
I am rounding up my b.sc this year ending but
NYSC is out of the question cos I can't serve cos
I did part-time. So now I am hoping to get an
exclusion certificate from NYSC.
The main reason I brought my palava on here is
cos I am pretty confused. I don't know what else
to do and how best to build a good CV and skills
for myself in other for employment to be less
stressful for me (in the oil and gas field). I gained no practical skill during the course of my schooling so I am not skilled as I speak.
I need advice on what and what to do and I also
like to know if I am employeable with just my
b.sc (in any department of the oil and had sector).
Thanks guys.
I am willing to answer any question that might
arise regarding this post.

Hello house. @scantee, I obtained my M.sc. Last year Nov. From the Institute of Petroleum Studies, centre of Occupational health safety and Environment. I read about IPS students getting placement in Total. I'd say it's not so easy. Those days are kinda long gone. But we have the opportunity of doin an internship at Total. Well...back to the main issue. I am looking for a job, I have a valid SAS and HUET, Waste management Coordinator's Training cert, inland ad offshore oil spill response training. All sponsored by Total. I ll be so grateful for any assistance with securing a job. Thnks
