Several houses and shops have reportedly been torched in a religious violence that erupted on Thursday morning in Bichi, a town several kilometers outside Kano metropolis in Kano state.

Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim K. Idris told Daily Trust that police reinforcements have been dispatched to the area. Residents also say the Joint Task Force has dispatched over 40 vehicles to help quell the unrest.

At the moment, most residents have been forced indoors by tear gas which the security agents have been firing.

Eyewitnesses say trouble started when an Igbo tailor, simply called Chibuike, pronounced the Hausa name for a popular outfit - Na Annabi ya zo kauwa - wrongly. Some who heard him were said to have spread the story about that he had blasphemed and irate youths went on a rampage, setting houses and shops on fire.

The police have not confirmed any casualty yet.

More details soon...

Islam is a religion of peace, those making problem are not true muslims, judge not dat ye may not b judged. Insha Allah

Are you sure of the peace statement?

Pakistan's authorities are suspending mobile phone services in major cities to prevent sectarian violence during key Shia Muslim commemorations. More than 90% of bombs are detonated by attackers using phones, officials say. In some areas, motorbikes carrying passengers have been banned because of fears that this is how attackers could be brought to their targets. Attacks on minority Shia by hard-line Sunnis have increased in recent months across Pakistan. In the deadliest attack this week, 23 people were killed at a Shia procession in the city of Rawalpindi.

On Friday, mobile phone services were temporarily blocked in parts of the capital Islamabad, the southern port city of Karachi, and in Quetta in the south-east. The authorities said that more areas would be cut off over the weekend - the climax of the holy month of Muharram for Shias. "More than 90% of bomb blasts have been carried out through mobile sims," Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik told reporters. "Most recently, all the blasts that occurred in the last 15 days were mobile phone-based," he added. Thousands of extra police are also being deployed and aerial surveillance will be carried out to monitor Shia processions across the country. Muharram marks the anniversary of the battle where the grandson of the Prophet Mohammad was killed.

You muslim scums are daring us oh. We would destroy you guys. We used to think an eye for an eye. But we are loosing igbos and they are loosing mere enslaved almajiris. You people send those goats to alaigbo to tempt us. We are not going to kill poor almajiris in retaliation. We would however destroy you guys from the top. Watch and see. This time their would be no imam, sultan, or emirs left in Nigeria.

This is what the koran has to say:

verse 5:51 - "Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends.
They are friends with one another."

In view of this instruction from the koran, we shouldn't be surprised about what's happening in the North

God forbid that He [God[ Himself should beget a son!...Those
who say: 'The Lord of Mercy has begotten a son,' preach a monstrous falsehood..." (Surah 19:12-, 29-,
88)

So there you have it. The Koran says that those who call Jesus Christ the "Son of God" are preaching a "monstrous falsehood".

Those who say that Muslims and Christians worship the same God are either ignorant or just plain stupid.

When some of us are calling for Biafra, we are called names.

The bitter truth is that as far as the Arabian spirit manifested as Islam still posses the North, Nigeria has no hope.

It has northing to do with poverty or illitracy, its all about deception by a man who claimed to be a prophet and his legacy of blood as was left in his "holy" book.

Make no mistake about it, Nigeria is a fraud!
