Please, Teach Me Efik/ibibio (calabar/akwa-ibom) Language. by Nobody: 7:47am On Nov 26, 2012 |
Please, I desperately want to learn this language. I study in Calabar and have a girlfriend from Akwa-Ibom. I learnt that she get excited each time a try to speak it (even when I don't know what i was talking about). I have other female and male friends too. I don't want to learn it from them. I want to surprise them. I want to learn it word by word or phrase by phrase. Speak, and then brake it down by word. I saw a thread opened by Odumchi but people where just speaking (writing) without translating. Always translate please. Please lets start with the common phrases or word. Thank ooh! I'm already excited myself...... Teach me Mbok!! Mbok mbok mbok. Hahaaha 2 Likes |

Kenis, what thread are you talking about? As for those translations, I don't speak Ibibio-Efik, but my parents do. I'll ask them for the translations. |

Thanks man. Would appreciate if you do. This is the thread- https://www.nairaland.com/69425/cross-river-akwa-ibom-topic/18 I thought one could learn there but, I found out it was only for those who already know the language. they were just having fun there. Is like people don't visit here much. I don't want my spirit to die now that i'm willing to learn it. I know some of them in Nairaland would be willing to teach me and other interested members who would want to learn it. 1 Like |
