Cherechy: From what I understand from that chapter, only women who have shaved their heads should cover it while praying, for it is shameful. It says that the glory of a woman is in her hair and it has been given to her as a covering. GBAM.... You dey enter class |

Joagbaje: I don't think he issue of wearing cap or removing cap is relevant in christian faith. Married women. Covered their faces in public in bible days as a form of respect and submission to their husband while men also covered their head as a form of respect and submission to God. But now in christ ,the covering of the face of the man is no longer required . That's the principle behind cap removal . It's to show that man no longer inferior before God. The head covering is no longer requiresd but this is different from cap wearing. Most people do it as a form of respect without understanding the principle behind it. May ur days be long for such a good explanation @op, men remove their cap as a sign of respect n nothing more. But on a more sincere note, do u feel comfortable wearing a cap inside a room, I am sure u don't, so I suggest u leave things u don't understand to rest. 1 Like |

DaWhiz: I don't believe its in the Bible or its a sin. Truth is, its a sign of respect in the Yoruba culture (and I think in some other Naija cultures too) to remove your cap when you're relating to an elder. So basically, people do it to show their respect to Baba God. But if you sincerely don't believe in it, I don't think its a big deal. IMHO Jus wat I wanted 2 say. It is just a sign of reverence. Some men remove dia caps wen dey r about 2 speak wit elders! It shows reverence and respect, more lyk culture mixed with religion. |

In my church, Latter Rain Assembly, you are permitted to either wear your cap. BTW, If men are to remove their caps what happens to Bishops and the Pope. |

For most part of the mass, he puts on his skull cap and removes his mitre. It's following a biblical tradition. In the Christian New Testament, in Paul's letter to the Corinthians (1 Corinthians chapter 11) it says: "Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonours his head. And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonours her head—it is just as though her head were shaved. If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head. A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God". Paul's views often follow Judaic law very closely -- not surprising, since he grew up as a Pharisee. Certainly, the instruction for women to cover their hair turns up in Genesis. so @OP na bible talk am |
