and yet that "super footballer" cannot win the world cup with Argentina? I thought that since he had so many records or what not, he could win a match just playing himself against 11 players. NONSENSE!

What has MY achievement got to do with anything? are you now saying that only people who have achieved more can say anything about Messi? what king of uneducated statement is that.
The sad fact is that Messi, as great as he is at Barcelona, has not achieved anything under ARGENTINA, and until he does, he will remain just that. Why do you think they still idolize Maradona and call him God in Argentina, when Messi is doing all the stuff that is mentionned on that list? have you for one minute thought that maybe, "just maybe" all the stuff mentionned is crap, and means very little in football.

here is a clue: do you think footballers want to be remembered/idolized for what is written on this thread or for WINNING THE WORLD CUP WITH THEIR NATIONAL TEAM?!

Yes Messi is a great player but cannot be considered the greatest YET, until he wins the world cup with Argentina......accept that or go and continue sukcing his cokc without using ur damn brain!

There is one thing in football that you don't know, ''all great footballers always miss one trophy or medal in there careers'' but that does not mean they are not great. E.g. Brazilians that won worldcup are lacking the olympic gold medals and Argentines that won olympic gold medals are lacking the worldcup. Na so e be o!

Who are you trying to fool here? nobody give a hoot about Olympics. the biggest most valued footbal trophy is the world cup followed by the champions league/European cup/Copa america/European league etc

That he hasnt won the world cup with Argentina doesn't take away from the fact that he is probably (and arguably) the greatest footballer that ever lived.
Goes to tell us that winning the world cup is not a 'one man business' and so Argentina should put her house in order.

Don't hate, just sit back, relax and enjoy this once in life time phenomena. Else you'll be missing out. Players like Messi come once in 50 years. I feel lucky to be a witness to this Phenomenon.
PS: I have that feeling he will win the world cup before he calls it quit with football. He is just 25.

Lol... that guy is just too full of himself. The truth is that Messi will do far more wonders than has ever been heard of in history... he is just starting. The reason is simple-focus and humility.

One thing that has killed the likes of Ronaldo, Ronaldino is simply because they allow the fame to get into their head and lost focus... Do you see any of those in Messi?

All this noise about Messi, if not because I don't like Football I know I would have achieved more than these! I remember those days in school when I could score 12 goals in one match, Messi has not achieved that in his Career, I'm the greatest footballer of all time, I just like being silent about my achievements that's why I turned down Real Madrid's offer to play for them!

How many times have i hear that, its getting boring and monotonous, I'm not surprised anyway, the little magician is ALIEN from planet mars ,he is no mortal. Players of his quality appears every 50 years. The last alien was diego armando maradona. for ignoramus saying he hasn't won anything with argentina (2005 juniuor FIFA world cup) (2008olympics) @ 25, Gerdmuller, maradona, Lothar matheuis, Great Garrincha , the great zico, Mario Kempez etc have not won world cup either!!! This demi-god have cemented his place in hearts in sports fans as the greatest ever. I'm proud to be born in his era and watch him break longstanding records, I'l tell my children and grandchildren about and alien from another planet that once played football with mere mortals!!!
