On Gov Chime: UNCONFIRMED REPORTS and Media Terrorism



In 'reporting Chime's so-called death (a story that has now been proven to be false) a host of media outlets relied on the following statement:

"...UNCONFIRMED REPORTS had it that Chime passed on at ..."

These media outlet include codewit.com, osun defender.com, africanspotlight.com, and onlinenigeria.com. Punch first published the "UNCONFIRMED REPORT", then codewit.com, osun defender.com, africanspotlight.com, and onlinenigeria.com all "CULLED" the "UNCONFIRMED REPORT" from Punch and re-reported the "UNCONFIRMED REPORT" in their own media.

But why is it that none of these media houses thought to CONFIRM THE REPORT before they published this outrageous story? Why terrorize a whole state(Enugu State); and a whole family (the Chimes); and an entire government (ENSG) and a whole nation (Nigeria) with this wicked lie? Who is the paymaster sponsoring this act of media terrorism?

All good men and women of conscience should stand up and condemn this damnable act of media terrorism.

I still dont get how people are excited breaking bad news and in this case, false bad news.

It is good,because it shows them what the people think of them and wishes them when they are dead.I dont know much about him,but as a nigerian frontline politician,i know he is no good.

He might be better than others,but he is not accountable.And anybody who is not accountable is unaccountable and cannot be relied on,no matter how small the unaccountability is.

When exactly has been proven to be false? Who made the pronouncement and when exactly?

Are you not by implication just as guilty of 'media terrorism' [unconfirmed reports] as those you accuse?

Just for the records, I do hope he's okay. I happen to make a lot of trips to Enugu and can readily testify to the transformation the man brought to the state.
