Police commission bar SSCE, Third Class degree holders

DECEMBER 17, 2012 BY ADELANI ADEPEGBA, ABUJA 17 COMMENTSThe Police Service Commission on Monday said Senior School Certificate and Third Class degree holders would no longer be recruited into the Nigeria Police Force.The commission also said that it had placed the minimum entry requirement at Ordinary National Diploma.These were stated by PSC Commissioner and Chairman, Public Affairs Committee of the commission, Ms. Comfort Obi, at a press conference in Abuja on Monday.She said it was part of the reform of the recruitment process into the police.

Good, may be that will make them to be better organised, behave better and increase their productivity like their counterpath in SSS, FRSC, CUSTOME SERVICE, IMMIGRATION and CIVIL DEFENCE

Third Class Degree is what an average Nigerian Student would get if he/she is to be examined based on full course contents without external help during exams.

People are yet to know that WAEC Board is mostly the cause of Exam malpractices in SSCE in Nigeria by their insistence on students taking a minimum of eight subjects in the second sitting as against the 1980es formula of registering only the subject needed to complete your entry qualification. Nobody like seeing F in his/her statement of result whether the subject is needed on not.

Police Recruitment Board should use verbal/qualitative/systematic drilling of applicants brain to ascertain their level of Intelligent Quotient.

Even slow writing and time constrain during exams can cause great brains to settle for Credit grade.

How do I know that a Second Class degree holder will do better than a Third Class degree holder in the same field without proper assessment of their intelligent quotient (IQ), knowing fully well that they are not from the same institution hence different comparism?
