MTNFootball.com gets into the head of Eagles coach Stephen Keshi to come up with the lucky 17 overseas-based pros for AFCON training camp in Portugal.

Goalkeepers

1 Vincent Enyeama: Maccabi Tel Aviv shot stopper remains the Eagles first choice keeper. He has proved to be Nigeria’s best between the sticks over the years despite the recent knocks in the media recently.

2 Austin Ejide: Another Israel-based ‘keeper who is tested and who is now expected to push Enyeama for the No.1 shirt with rangers new signing Chigozie Agbim happy to be third in the pecking order.

Defenders

3 Joseph Yobo: Eagles captain is the soul of Eagles defence. His experience in the heart of the back four and determination will keep him going for a lot longer.

4 Efe Ambrose: Glasgow Celtic centre back is another top quality defender, who has grown in stature since his summer switch to Scottish giants Celtic. He is very versatile as he could also play at right back or as a defensive midfielder.

5 Kenneth Omeruo: Nigeria U20 star who has caught the eyes of the selectors after some great outings for Ado Den Haag in the Dutch league. He is comfortable as a central defender and also at right back.

6 Elderson Echiejile: The Sporting Braga left back has installed himself in the Eagles. He is attack-minded and tactically disciplined.

7 Taye Taiwo: He has another chance to show he is still ‘The Tornado’ that Nigerians once admired. His bullet shots are an access to any team.

8 Onyekachi Apam: The ex-youth international has overcome his injury problem to be considered for the AFCON. He a tough tackler, good ball winner and his calmness is second to none.

Midfielders

9 Raheem Lawal: Adana Demirspor midfielder's dribbling skills, passes and shooting ability have endeared him to the Eagles coach. He is very strong and solid in the middle of the park.

10 Nosa Igiebor: He is armed with great attacking drive and often gets to do something special like his wonder strike against Venezuela recently.

11 Mikel Obi: He brings stability and discipline to a team and could also deliver some long balls right into the attack. This will be his fourth Nations Cup after he made his debut in 2006.

12 Ogenyi Onazi: Youngster who is ever willing to take his chances with both hands as he showed in the time he has played for the full international side.

Strikers

13 Ike Uche: Eagles top scorer during qualifiers is a business-minded striker who has delivered time and again for the team.

14 Ahmed Musa: CSKA Moscow winger is a top-class addition to the squad. His blistering, shooting power and goals, not to mention his total commitment to the Nigerian cause make him a must for the Nations Cup.

15 Obafemi Martins: His goals with Levante in Spain have earned him another shot at AFCON glory after he flopped against Venezuela recently.

16 Victor Moses: Moses is another versatile player as he could play as a striker and on either wings. He is fast and strong as well. He is very good in aerially.

17 Shola Ameobi: Newcastle United man is a big addition to the squad in more ways than one. His composure and experience as well as aerial power will be bigger pluses for the Eagles.

Undoubtedly, Nigeria is blessed with quality players. Your list is ok. But is there really no place for Kalu Uche (Elder brother of IK Uche) in the Nigerian AFCON team? Is his present form in vain for country? Ok, let's compare: Kalu Uche vs Amobi. Kalu Uche vs Emenike. Who would be your choice?
