Hello house. I am starting my web development journey. I was told to start with front end, basically HTML, CSS, Boostrap and Javascript. Which is/are the best Javascript framework/library to learn(JQuery, React, Angular Js)?

For the backend, i was advised to go for PHP, Laravel, Node Js, Express Js. Is this the best languages n framework to start with? Which database should i start up with? (MySQL or MongoDB)?

I will appreciate direction from experts in the house for a sure foundation so i dont get frustrated along the line.

I have littIe experiwnce with VB which i used to do few projects but now i want to become to fullstack developer.

I'm learning web development, to an extent, I Know HTML and CSS, but it's like every time I look, there's always something I'm yet to learn. I feel like it'll take me up to 10 years to be proficient.

I checked a thread and I was seeing strange languages; ReactJs, Native, Kotlin,e.t.c

For front-end web development, you need HTML, CSS, at least one of the many front-end programming languages such as JavaScript, and and one of its libraries/frameworks such as React JS (JS here means JavaScript) or Angular JS or Vue JS or JQuery.

For me, I have picked HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and one of the libraries/frameworks of JavaScript which is React JS.

I have learnt HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. What I want to do now before learning React JS is develop some websites and applications with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript so that I will have a sound knowledge of them.

Kotlin, PHP, and Python etc are all programming languages just like JavaScript. You only need to learn and master one of them. You don't need to learn more than one for now. Some of them are used for different purposes, so you need to research them to know which to learn. But remember you need at least one of them alongside HTML, and CSS.

Ultimately, you need HTML, CSS, JavaScript (and React JS or Vue JS or Angular JS or JQuery) or Kotlin ( and any of the libraries/frameworks of Kotlin) or Python (and Flask or DJango or any other library/framework) or PHP (and Laravel or CAKEPHP or any other library/framework).

More precisely, you have learnt HTML and CSS, you need to learn JavaScript or PHP or Python (you can pick one from these three, but do your research to know which to learn) and then learn one of the libraries/frameworks of the one you eventually pick.

0^1000 = 0

1^1000= 1000

consistency is key.
Don't give up, keep on daily progress no matter how small.

lol grin

It's one step at a time.Html and css is just for structure of a web page and styling. You will still need javascript for interactiveness of the web page. You see that reactjs,It is a framework bulit on javascript. There are other frameworks too that makes coding javascript easier. We have vuejs, angularjs etc.You don't need to know all.
With all these, you're done basically with frontend.

Now backend, this is the sever side in which all underground work is done. You need any programming language:Ruby on rails, php, python, java, nodejs(a javascript framework for backend) etc.Just pick one.
You also need to know dababases:Mysql, mongodb etc.

So basically frontend:Html,css,javascript,any javascript framework.
backend:Any programming language(they all have pros and cons,so pick wisely). The most common is php and nodejs....pick a database language.
You can learn all these in a year, provided you learn and practice for hours everyday.

As a web developer,learning never ends.Why?
Because technologies are changing and you have to be up to date, you will take on tasks that will require more than what you know, you will discover that something is lacking and you need to know it(as you gain more experience).

Remember, one step at a time.

In fact, most of the people who are already good web and software developers today learnt years ago when it was way harder to learn it. Now, it is way easier to learn it.
