Is The Church Our Mental Institution? by advocate666: 11:10am On Jan 02, 2013 |
In europe and other medically developped countries, psychologically unstable people go to good specialised mental institutions but no such advanced places exist in Nigeria. Instead what we have are churches full of unbalanced people. They stand, sit, kneel, murmur, shout, speak strange languages, dance, etc. The kind of behaviour would see in good psychiatric ward. Then, they pay their pastor/psychologist and go home feeling happier. Just like unbalanced europeans after seeing their psychologists. But the christians will tell you that they do not suffer from any mental problems, which begs the question: what then is wrong with christians? |

My pastor regularly preaches that Christians are mad and our medication is Jesus |

Religious lunatics need an asylum. Where better to refer them than the church? There is a short story by H.G. Wells. It is called The Country of the blind, where the one-eyed man thought he was king. The one-eyed man tried in vain to convince the blind people that he could see but in the end, the sightless people ran him out of town. Lesson: if we don't confine these religious lunatics to their asylum, they would do it to us O! |
