Spent the better part of my morning drooling through your thread! Amazing journey there! I must admit I've never been to Nigeria though; seems the roads there are awesome! Back here in Ghana, even the road linking the two principal cities (Accra and Kumasi) degenerates into an unpaved dusty hell at some points; a dusty hell I'll have to tackle this Monday in my '03 Ford Focus Wagon! Beautiful pics too! Come to think of it, I've never really seen your 'baby' before. For me, there are only few things more desirable than a well kept old school car!- the recent models are kinda......a bit like light tea. Kinda looking into buying and restoring a 1989 Mercedes-Benz W126 SEC, when the Cedi stops fooling around. Thanks for sharing! Cheers! |

Thanks. I will likely be in Enugu next week or so, and I plan to do the trip with the Baby. I love the aggressive way it drives, including that loud impressive noisy engine note it gives while on high speed. Hmm! Life can be very sweet when you take charge of your life by making the right choices and decisions by yourself. 505 V6 was my first dream car. Believe me, it feels really good when a dream is achieved! Ikenna 1 Like |

DECOtech: If you spent almost 3hrs on a 212km road, at what speed were you driving? I don't discuss speed I do online. Also, speed you do on that Abuja- Lokoja road will not determine how fast you arrive Lokoja. At that time (2012), there so many check points, traffic jams & diversion due to road construction. I can confirm what Ikenna351 is saying, even here in Europe, Peugeot 505 are becoming rare gem. It took me almost 3 years to find one I liked at a decent price, generally 505 prices in Europe are no longer profitable for exporters, as Ikenna351 said owners are holding on. @Savedbaba: Finding a 505 with AC in Europe is also rare, the top spec 505 then in Europe did not come as standard with AC, it was an additional option, it’s mainly American Spec that came with Factory fitted AC as standard and a few in France. 2 Likes

@Ikenna: abi you be winch, I bought her late last year from a Peugeot dealer in Holland who had it in his showroom, he had a collection of classic Peugeot and wanted to get rid of some, that’s how I got luck. It only had 53,000 Km on the clock which for a 1988 vehicle is low. It’s automatic, sadly has no AC and the sound system is crap…but I love my 505, even my Okada plate number na 505 |

The auto transmission in it is ZF 4HP22 (4-speed), which succeeded the 3-speed (ZF 3HP22) in earlier 505 model (Phase 1). Even if the transmission gives you issue in the future, you can easily convert or swap in 5-speed box (BA 5/10) compatible with PRV-ZN3J. 604 V6 manual box will fit, but its 4-speed. Or you use 505 conventional 5-speed box, but you change the bellhousing with 604 V6 box or Volvo 760's ( not sure it has stick version though). Even before my Baby arrived, i bought Aftermarket radio (Sony), including Sony speakers (very powerful) while waiting for the Lion to arrive). Its an easy swap. But i had to make a bigger hole for the aftermarket speaker to be mounted. Will attach the pics soon. Hmm! Could see "505" on your Bike's number plate as well. It feels good to have a number plate that says a lot about the owner and the car. I dont know how technical you are, but will share some tips with you on ZN3J. In case you ever have non-start issue in future, below is how to troubleshoot the Jetronic LH2-2 system: http://www.505turbo.com/forum/index.php?/topic/2850-just-purchased-1987-peugeot-505-stx/ http://www.505turbo.com/forum/index.php?/topic/2021-v6-problems/ For the ZN3J workshop manual and other workshop manuals like the ABS, suspension, Variable ratio steering, climate control, etc, you will find below their workshop manuals. In fact, the site contains workshop manuals of everything in that car of yours, in case you want to go DIY. It contains manuals of other 505 models. http://peugeot505.info/index.php?id=downloads_manuals&lang=1 Also, I have the soft copy of 505 V6 owners manual, in case you need it. Though, its for American spec & 1989 model. If you ever have any question on ZN3J injection & ignition systems, dont hesitate to ask, including PRVs generally. Ikenna |

Mr Ikenna I read your peugeot thread from page 1 to page 54 and the insight u gave other peugeot owners made me fall in love with a brand I knew nothing of. I am not a peugeot owner but I have learnt a lot. By the way that your Peugeot 505 V6 is sexy and she knows it. Is that the only peugeot you have or is the green peugeot also yours? |

I left Abuja this morning for Anambra at 7.14 am in my SV D9. Half into the journey, after Ajaokuta, my Exhaust broke from the rear muffler/pot and dropped on the road, dragging. Lol! I spent close to an hour to lift the pipe dragging on the ground and hanged it somehow. Luckily, minutes later , I got to a panel beater workshop. The panel beater is getting ready to fix it. Sadly, my fuel gauge that hardly dropped half way into the journey before this interesting incident took place, has now dropped drastically just few minutes I drove the car with the broken exhaust. Lol! It means I will have to refill the tank before I get to Enugu. This Nigerian road, eeh! Just killed my fun, because I was really enjoying the drive. But come to think of it, its all part of the fun. Lol! Other drivers were having pity on me, saying "Sorry o!", as they drive by, because my car blocked the road. But when some of them saw me pull out my shirt and went under the car, they must be thinking, "The man sef na mechanic". Lol! Will keep you guys updated. Ikenna 1 Like |
