For fear of theft. Even at the look of that backgrounf. You can see its a ghetto and the owner may know how things are done there and may be a dangerous abode hence the action of caging the car. Lol

You have said it all. The environment doesnt deserve such a car. It's an error.

Nigeria mentality.......

Oya nah go ahead to apply american mentality in Nigeria. When you build your house dont fence it, plant only flowers, park your camry and go to bed.

ogtavia: What happened to the anti-theft security of the car?...anyway..seems kinda smart...but those who live in Glass houses dont throw stones,he should gotten a car that will give him rest and peace of mind.

Prevention is better than cure.

Re: Picture Of A Car In A Cage by crackhouse(m): 11:24pm On Jan 13, 2013
the owner must gone through hell to get money for the car, maybe he used his life savings to buy it and wouldn't want to loose it to criminal in a jiffy. he no want take chances at all, no need for stories like "i woke up in the morning to find out that my car has gone". grin

Bisjosh: He is a foolish man! Why buy an expensive car in such a neighborhood when u know your mind won't be at rest
That car is way too much for that area. The money he used in buying that car should have been used to rent a better apartment in a friendlier neighborhood!
So thieves do not enter friendlier neighborhood and as such there is no need to secure your properties there as the man has done? Thieves are everywhere hence the need to take thigh security measure as the owner of the car has done.
Re: Picture Of A Car In A Cage by Nobody: 6:03am On Jan 14, 2013
Obviously from all indications...the car is worth more the house. Besides, such car is not meant for such a house. My friend, sale that car and get yourself a good house.

This not new now back in the mid 90s when robbers where on rampage in festac town and were always after Mercedes benz 200, u will get to see stuff like dis around 5th avenue from D1 close down wards where u have block of flats. Boiz were notorious then stealing the Mercedes Crown, side mirrors and trafficator lights.

djeezy: Only in Naija can it happen. It's called tight security. Lol

Why do some Nigerians think so badly of the country that when they see something they consider unusual, their first reaction is "only in Naija?"

Now check this out:

China:

A Chinese man has built a cage for his car to stop thieves kidnapping parts and demanding ransom money.

Mr Zhang, of Jilin city, says his car's computerised engine management system was stolen twice.

"Each time I found a note clipped under the wiper, with phone and bank-account numbers," he said.

Each time, Zhang had to wire 500 yuan (£35) to get the part back.

He has now built a cage to keep his car safe outside his home.

And by the way, how are we sure that picture is from Naija?

And this one from the grand ol' US of A

If you've ever driven by the DSHS office in North Spokane you probably saw something a bit unusual: A car in a cage. The caged car got Rick Lukens' attention so he tracked down what the story behind that car is in this edition of Lukens @ Large.
