See this mathematics illiterate.

That is by total numbers of users. Only 28% of our population use the internet. (Nigeria is 10th in the world by total users)

Switzerland that is 46th in totals users has 85% of its population using the internet.

By the way, how many of those internet users in Nigeria use it on mobile phones and are the 30% of well to do people not the average Nigerian
why the insult ?did I insult you in anyway with my post ?
Factoring in landmass, population size, level of development nigeria is in a good position seeing as a developed country (china) with a population size of over a billion as only 29 % and india with a population also over a billion as only 5.2% internet user and nigeria has 28% is this a bad thing and. then you compare nigeria with a very small country like Switzerland a country with population just close to 8mill and not even as big as nigeria.I choose to focus on the postive, this is a good thing no matter how you try to rationalize it.

Where are you getting your stats from?

India- Number 3 in total internet users and 10% of indians use the internet
China- Number 1 in total internet users and 38% of Chinese use the internet

First of all, you want to hype Nigerians internet usage by comparing it with these two countries (China and India) that suffer from serious poverty/illiteracy in rural areas.

Secondly, dont you think that the percentage of people using internet in a country is a better measure? Have you noticed that the countries with humans rights and high standars of living all have very high percentage of local internet users?

You are the one trying to rationalize Nigerias problem with the use of faulty statistics. You want us to believe that Nigeria has an achievement with internet usage just by the sheer amounts of people that mostly use a slow internet connection?

I(all my facts are from CIA 2011)i simply divide the amount of internet user by the estimated total population since I got an accurate enough result for nigeria 28% a fact which u presented I might add and 82% for Switzerland I assumed it was safe enough as a rule of thumb for me to present my argument.still 10% and 38% is nothing to be proud of in population of over a billion and forgive me but is poverty and illiteracy not a big issue here in nigeria ? And then you pick Switzerland a country with high literacy rate, low population as comparison.
I agree that high internet usage in respect to population reflect better human right and high standard of living but one thing u fail to consider is while this is true for small countries like Switzerland it doesn't work in countries with large population, USA being the exception. we can both agree that comparison between us and the states is not fair comparison but rather we should aspire to be on par or better than them.

Yawn.......rationalize all you want based on faulty statistics. Switzerland is one among many countries I could use to buttress my point.

I just confirmed my maths was correct but my fact were outdated but not by so a large margin that it does not strike home the point am making but it seems you have chosen to ignore this you accused a poster of hanging on to the postive in a sea of negativity don't you think you your self is so used to the negative that u can appreciate a good thing for what it is ?
