Emir Of Kano Flown To London. by fatdon1(m): 8:21pm On Jan 20, 2013
The Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero along with two of his injured sons and some aides have been flown to the United Kingdom a day after his convoy was attacked on his way back to his Palace after attending a Quranic recitation competition.

Channels Television’s correspondent in Kano reported that the Emir left the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano in a private jet which took off around 1:15 p.m. on Sunday.

The Emir is travelling on a day that the Kano State Police Command said that the death toll in Saturday’s attack had risen to five.

The spokesman of the Kano State Police command, Magaji Majie said that the Interim Chairman of Kura Local Government Area, Salisu Abdulahhi Kura and his driver, who left the convoy in the confusion that followed the attack were trailed by the gunmen in a cab and killed in a nearby street.

Security has been tightened in Kano as armed soldiers and policemen patrol the streets and intensify their search on vehicles at checkpoints in the city.

The Kano state Deputy Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje said some suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack. He however refused to give the figure of those arrested.

At least five people were killed, including the emir’s driver and orderly, while several others were wounded in Saturday’s attack on the Emir’s convoy.

Too bad! there is insecurity in every part of Nigeria. Is this not an indication that we cannot all live as one nation or that we should allow for a con-federal nation?

Thats not fare. Why not ask yourself why he was attacked? He is seen as an Ally to the Federal Government and the BH boys see him as one betraying Islam. So dont conclude that he is a sponsor

They created BOKO HARAM to discredit GEJ Government, now it is the other way round, don't run wait until they clear your family.

A child that say her mother will not sleep, him too will not sleep. Instead of IBB to condemn BOKO RAMS strike, instead he is asking for negotiation. Very soon both IBB, El-rufai and co will die of bomb blast.

The Emir is a peaceful man and friend to all. He was even close friends with Emeka Ojukwu, from way back when Ojukwu was commander of the 5th Battalion in Kano and they remained good friends, even during and after the civil war.

Apart from beer parlour talk (and bigotry), nobody can prove that the Emir was a sponsor or supporter of Boko Haram.

A private jet which may have been rented considering the situation at hand. Don't make assumptions based on the PJ madness in Nigeria at the moment.

Lets face the truth...the northern leaders/governors are the cause of all these issues. They totally neglected the north. looting and stealing their money. They shout for sharia and arabic schools while their children are in oxford, harvard, best of schools in the world. Its good for them...i wonder what would have happened if the emir was shot....they get all the multi-billion contracts...and do nothing for their community. most top govt positions in nigeria are headed by northerners yet its not reflecting in their people/.///...

I dnt have pity for them.
