The participating youths comprised students drawn from various schools like LAUTECH, BELLS, OOU, FUTMINNA and OAU. They were all hosted by Eleven32 (www.eleven32.org), a notable campus capacity building organization, overseen by Kehinde CapacityBuilder Ogunbiyi, the Founder and brainchild of NSR(www.nsr.eleven32.org).
The highpoints of the events were birth by resource persons who delivered powerfully on their given topics. The first resource person who opened the floor was Mr. Marouf Orewole, who innovatively made enlightenment on ‘Bio-diversity” i.e. varieties of life. According to him, there are different forms of diversity, such as agricultural diversity which is evident in the food we take, cultural diversity symbolised by our cultural heritage, genetic bio-diversity which is about anthropogenesis. He also made mention of sustainable development which is the ability to use what we have to provide for ourselves without affecting the ability of many other generation to do same. For Ojo Victoria, a practicing Barrister of OAU origin, when speaking of ‘How Corruption affects our value system in Nigeria with resolution’ said the youths carry the potential to be the best Nigeria has produced. She however cited the case of visa challenges that’s besetting a Nigerian team from representing Africa in an International Law Competition, to say that Nigeria missed it along the line by misplacing her core values.
