Does Christianity Amount To Laziness? by Rapmoney(m): 8:14am On Jan 31, 2013
The manner in which some people practise their own version of Christianity makes me wonder!
This applies mostly to the pentecostal groups. Why should somebody stay in church doing one thing or the other
all in the name of working for the Lord all through the day, 7 days a week, 30/31 days of the month and 365 days of the year?
These people don't go to work and most of them look so wretched. The funny thing is that their pastors who they seem to do
'eye service' for live better than them in all ramifications. God that created man commanded man to work...in Acts of the Apostles,
Apostle Paul made it clear that 'he who does not want to work, let him not eat'. In Ecclesiastes, it is also made clear that there
is time for everything. What this means is that there is time to be in church, whether sweeping or cleaning the premises, praying
or what have you and still a time to be working so that you can earn money and take care of yourself and your loved ones. I know of a relation some years back who spent all her time in church, 24/7, 365 while others were working. Today, she can't even pay her bills - common light (PHCN) bills!!!

Why do some Christians equate Christianity to Laziness?

Maybe they are not lazy but misguided. If they are working in the church then that shows they have the capacity to work. If they can channel that energy to something more fruitful they might be more successful.

Also, they might be intellectualy lazy. I see ppl abandoning logic and reason for the spiritually carnal pleasures of the church grin

They spend in excess of 40% of their income and a great deal of their man hours in the church yet they wonder why life is getting harder and finances tighter. All the time spent fasting through the night and praying fervently could be better used to develop their knowledge in certain fields and other practical skills. How many have read non-religious books. They have no time to take training courses in their professions. How many even know the history of xtianity itself, how it came about, the council of nicaea and other ecumenical councils, the great schism, the crusades, protestant reformation, genesis of their church? Some dont even know the doctrines of their church.
