i2X Media Company Limited - organizer of WORD UP (the biggest Spoken Word Poetry Event in Nigeria) has reached an agreement with Smooth FM 98.1 as our media partner for all our poetry events in 2013.

Plans are in top gear to start a Spoken Word Poetry radio show on Smooth FM 98.1 this February 2013 (possibly from next week i.e. the 2nd week of February 2013). The radio show will be pre-recorded and will be aired for 15 minutes Mondays to Fridays in the mornings with a repeat broadcast in the evenings. Then on Saturdays, the radio show will run for one hour as an omnibus of the shows earlier aired from Monday to Friday.

The show will comprise talks about Spoken Word Poetry in Nigeria (the development, uses and benefits), hypes and mentions of upcoming poetry events and also performances by poets.

The radio show is up for sponsorship as a related but separate entity to our events.

WORD UP Volume 3 aka Da Love Thang comes up this February 16, 2013.
