Our client, is a wholly indigenous multi-disciplinary firm of consulting architects, engineers, quantity surveyors and project managers. Incorporated in 1980 with a total Paid-up share capital of N500, 000,000.00. The company now seeks to hire a Quantity Surveyor to drive its recent projects.

Responsibilities:

Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client;
Verification of estimates and bills of quantities.
Preparation of Tender documents
Inventory and stock taking of goods and materials inward and outward
Compiling and assisting in the submission of valuations, accounts forecasting and general costing.
Improving the quality and profitability of the tendering and commercial process for allocated contract.
Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance of project work;
Assisting in establishing the client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies;
Performing risk and value management and cost control; advising on procurement strategy; identifying, analyzing and developing responses to commercial risks
Preparing and analyzing costing for tenders; providing advice on contractual claims; analyzing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports
Valuations and payments
Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use
Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.


Qualifications and Requirements:

Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
Minimum 8 years’ experience as a quantity surveyor.
Knowledge of cost accounting skill is essential
High proficiency in the use of MS Excel Spreadsheet
Must have good communications and interpersonal skills as well as being a team player.
Good knowledge building and Civil engineering laws and regulations, as well as health and safety matters, tax and insurance and contract laws,
Broad knowledge of building, managerial and communication skills, along with sound commercial awareness.
Be enthusiastic and possess leadership abilities,
Practical minded who approach problem solving in a methodical and logical way
Experience in Building and Civil engineering works
