Intent to kill is lacking on the part of the pharmacists involved, so the prosecutor should try them for lesser offence. I believe that they should be charged for negligence and professional misconduct , which might have their licenses suspended by PCN

Bliss4Lyfe: Pharmacist have specialist knowledge.
Pharmacy selling tranquilizers to young men know exactly what the tranquilizers would be used for.
Abi the two primary offenders(Rap.ist and Murderer) be doctor?

To clear things up for everyone. The drug they use was Rohypnol. Now it's not an Over-the-Counter drug meaning you need a prescription to get it but seeing the way Nigeria is, a lot of Pharmacists sell drugs without prescriptions for a lot of reasons sometimes compassionately.

Apparently the pharmacist in question sold this drug to the killers who in turn used it for bad. Now I should add that this drug is a perfectly legal drug for treating insomnia and anxiety disorders in several countries around the world. In other places where Rohypnol isn't used cause of its bad reputation, others such as diazepam or bromazepam are used...but they all are in the same class of drugs.

How were the pharmacists roped into the case?

After receiving statements from the suspects that they bought the drug used to sedate the victim from a popular pharmacy in Festac, a police operative went undercover to the same pharmacy and then asked to buy the drug for his health condition (he was an elderly guy so completely believable). The drugs were sold to him...and the pharmacist was arrested as an accomplice to murder.

It's a story of being at the right place at the wrong place for these pharmacists. One on hand the police is right to have them arrested and investigated to see if indeed they were accomplices with premeditated knowledge of the case, one another hand, a judge can't jail these guys for being accessories to murder. My bet is they'll be seperated and subsequently struck out from this case at some point as should be the case.

The normal disciplinary course of action in situations such as this is for the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria to conduct an enquiry and then discipline, suspend or revoke the licenses of these pharmacists according to their laws.

[quote author=Bliss4Lyfe]Wat a stu.pid country. 3rd and 4th person granted bail, say waitin happen. Just becos dey were not at the scene of the gruesome murder don't mean they are not guilty of the crime. In English law they are secondary participant to the crime committed and incohate offence refers to them as party to the conspiracy to rape and murder.

Those men should be rearrested immediately. They are not innocent. In fact all four deserve to be buried alive next to the lady dey murdered some months back. angry[/quote

Thank you,i thought i was the only one mad at this judgment, how could they not just get it right, why are life issues being treated unfairly in this country.why can't there be adequate punishment for crime -murder for crying out loud

So after several efforts by my guy to make you understand you still shamelessly display your daftness in public.

All these friends and relatives of rap.ist and murderers, make me laugh. If only u put as much effort to instill sense of moral on the offenders.

You won't have to shamelessly defend the undefendable. The late Cynthia died after she was poisoned, Molested and strangulated to death.

May the soul of ur murdering and ra.pist families rot in jail. scumbag!

Sign on with 100 monika and like, It won't stop me from flogging some sense into ur daftness.

Been reading some funny comments about the Pharmacists. They should be charged for profeesional misconduct & violation of proffesional ethics by their professional bodies and for criminal conduct by the police.
Its like buying Misoprostol over the counter(which most people do) and then giving it to a lady who now dies from the complication of abortion......everyone knows the misoprostol is probably going to be used for abortion and not for ulcer. Rophynol is widely used for date rape & selling such without the utmost precaution taken is definitely dangerous.
These are drugs that the dispensing pharmacist might even need to call the prescribing doctor in some case.
You can't entirely blame the policemen too sha.

if u know the states where the so-called pharmacists come from, you will understand the people defending them and the people who secured their release.

some people are now above the law and can commit any crime they like because people from their state who are in authority will defend them. does that mean that a pharmacist implicated in a crime will not be tried because he is a pharmacist. imagine murder suspects granted bail in nigeria
