Starting a religion has become the new 419. Religious institutions are given a great deal of privileges, respect and financial concessions from government all over the world. These religions and their leaders have become pseudo-politicians and social commentators, influencing policies from the USA to Nigeria to South Africa to South Korea. Some of these evangelical ministries are accountable to none but the top leaders of the ministries. The likes of Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, John Hagee, Creflo Dollar, TD Jakes, Joel Olsten, Oral Roberts etc and now multi-million dollar operations with the lead ministers benefiting luxurious living from the coffers of the ministries.

These ministries promise ethereal afterlife rewards as stated in the tenets of their religions. But also promise reallife changes in circumstance to believers, simply for believing in their dogma. This genre of teaching leaves the followers to all manner of manipulation and exploitions, with the leaders growing all the more richer.

Why are people so easily sucked into this brand of mind exploitation?
