Jonathan Donates N200 million To Yobe State University

President Jonathan has commissioned the Yobe State University and donated N200 million for equipping the library named after him, with state-of-the-art facilities.

He praised the state government for the priority attention given to the institution since inception saying it will go a long way in improving the standard and quality of education in the state and by extension the country as a whole.

President Jonathan further stated that the federal government had assisted a lot towards the development of the school through the Education Trust Fund (ETF) intervention which has contributed in the building of the library, lecture halls, departmental expansions.

The President was also at the Desert Research Monitoring and Control Centre of the institution established to conduct research and proffer solutions to the encroaching desert in the state and by extension the northern part of the country as a whole.

Experts from Egypt and India have been drafted to the centre with a view to setting it up to serve the purpose for which it was established.

He also commissioned the Damaturu Inner Ring Road constructed by the Ibrahim Gaidam administration to decongest traffic in Damaturu metropolis.

yes oooh,that's a good step n assurance to the people of the region that His Administration care about the people of Yobe,May Allah in his infinite power continue to strengthen and guide him.

Quite applaudable....this goes along way that if the region put itself together to fight and put an end to the menace of boko haram, serious development and turnaround can be fast-tracked.

Honestly I think the president's donation was better targeted than that of the APC.
but all the same, the APC's action is laudable.

Wrong move by Mr president, this animals dont need western education, he could have donate that money to the elders council to buy more amunition and materials to make more bombs, useless abokis

In our kind of democracy you would have to ask the house to approve your spending. Has he done that? If he can abruptly donate 200m to a university library named after him then he could as well donate a similar amount to himself, or his wife, or sister or just anybody. I pray that is not how we are running!

President Jonathan knows what he is doing. Donating money to non pdp states and to state tertiary institutions. He knows what he is doing. very soon he is gonna donate money to LASU and IMSU.

Bad belle de worry you. To ask which house? Would they have agreed as far as its not ending up in their pocket... Has any meaningful law that will affect the life of the ordinary man or woman ever seen the light of the day in that your so called house.

The government donated through NDDC to my department(chemical engineering) back then in school, the sum of N100m...check that again people, N100,000,000. They bought one 60KW Mikano Silent generator, bought a few computers for the IT section and Air conditioners for every staff office, then repainted the office building.
Needless to say, by the time I graduated, the generator was wrecked(used not more than a year), IT lab working computers lost internet connection while most stopped working and well the painting of course didn't last up to 6months.
Mr. President, the Universities present in your country sir are already too much, too many jobless graduates who only know theory of their course and you're donating money to a new school built up north which will take NUC another 10years if not more to fully accredit all offered courses therein.... Well done Mr. President Sir, well done...
