An innocent man freed this week after serving 23 years in prison for a murder he did not commit has suffered a serious heartattack just hours after his release.

David Ranta was sentenced to 37 years behind bars after being convicted in 1991 of killing an Orthodox Jewish rabbi during a botched robbery. He always maintained hisinnocence, and was released on Thursday.

On Friday night, the 58-year-old was rushedto a New York hospital after suffering a heart attack. He has undergone one surgicalprocedure and is set to undergo another, according to US reports.

Judiciary error indeed.
