‘How I Swallowed 100 Wraps of Cocaine’
By Davidson Iriekpen

At the formal commencement of the trial of suspected drug baron, Akindele Ikumoluyi yesterday, star witness, Ruth Abodia, stunned everybody when she told a Federal High Court in Lagos, how the accused person made her to swallow 100 wraps of cocaine.
The case, which had suffered many adjournments, was consequent upon the request of the lead prosecuting counsel, Mr Femi Oloruntoba, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Director, Prosecution and Legal, who told the court that the prosecution had its witnesses lined up and in a matter of days, it would conclude its case against Akindele.
Abodia said she joined the trade when she had financial difficulty and was introduced to the accused person by one Akeem.
She said after giving her N20,000 about twice, the accused told her that she could actually make a lot of money and subsequently become rich if she joined the business.
According to her, thereafter, she submitted her passport to the accused who facilitate a UK visa for her and lured her to swallow the hard drugs.

She said after swallowing the 100 wraps of cocaine, she later excreted one when she went to the toilet, adding that she excreted the other 99 in the custody of the National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Oloruntoba, who was reacting to an application by counsel to the accused person that the case, which has suffered series of adjournment, said: "it is the accused person that had cause this case to be adjourned on several occasions, despite the order of the court granting accelerated hearing.
"At the last date we adjourned, I anticipated that this would be the proceeding of the day. When the court refused bail the last time, it also ordered accelerated hearing in this case. If the court goes through the record of court, it will find out that it is the accused person that has made the accelerated hearing ordered in this case impossible.
"If the court gives us two weeks, we can conclude our case against the accused person. We have our witnesses lined-up, so that we can round up and both parties would know their fate. While I acknowledge the need for the defence counsel to file what ever he needs to file, I will pray the court not to over-rule itself on the issue of bail and order that we go on with the matter.
"If the accused person has not committed any offence, he can go and rest at home after trial," he added.
Meanwhile, counsel to Akindele said justice should not be sacrificed at the expense of speed, insisting that the court should first take the application for bail, in view of the medical report from the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), which confirmed that his client is very ill.

Its a pity that some Nigerians are really desperate when it comes to going after money. May the Almighty God deliver us all, Amen.

100 wraps of cocaine for N20,000 paid twice - so so stupid. She could have been killed outright. It's so sad when you hear of, and see desperate suffering masses being taken advantage of for 'peanuts', while others sit in the senate and house of reps and 'steal' millions a day for doing nothing.

Nigeria‘s Biggest Drug Baron Arrested in Scotland

Nigerian-born Edmond Okoli, 43, turned up to collect the crates of cheap crockery from Peru. He was heard singing a song in his native dialect as he drove from the airport, with the words ‘He who’s got the drug is going,

Okoli denied smuggling cocaine in November 2005 along with others. He told an earlier trial he was offered $500 to pick Peruvian artifact.

Yu will continue to talk bla bla. Now who now has highest record in tracking traficking? Any little thing he will keep mentioning Yoruba. Abi na Yoruba bi Okoli?

To the Yoruba person that stole German Nigger's girlfriend, can you please return his LovePeddler to him so he can stop crying and maybe find something better to do with his worthless life?

Thanks in advance.

Omo this life is hard o.
I am broke and about to be homeless (at least that's how I see it). I started thinking of drugs and started researching about carrying cocaine.

I am sorry but I have to eat and also earn to cater for my ageing parents who depends on me.
I have no one to lean on
