Magic Johnson’s son, Earvin Johnson III, is a 20-year-old student at NYU. The young man has made his parents proud of him for choosing to live his life freely as a gay man. Johnson III was seen walking hand-in-hand with his boyfriend (pictured left) on the Sunset Strip this morning. Johnson III’s parents couldn’t be more proud of their son.

“Cookie and I love EJ and support him in every way,“  Magic says of his son. “We’re very proud of him.” Johnson III is one of Magic’s three children. Magic’s first-born child is Andre Johnson. Andre was born in 1981 to Melissa Mitchell. He was raised primarily by his mother and visited Magic during the summers.

As of October 2005, Andre was working for Magic Johnson Enterprises, a company that has a networth of $700 million, as a marketing director. Today, according to BlackEntrepreneurProfile.com, Andre works as the Vice President of Business Development. His primary responsibilities are taking current relationships and partnerships and growing them to build/enhance future business opportunities by assessing and understanding the marketplace, prioritizing market segments for development, identifying new business opportunities and analyzing their feasibility, and facilitating the successful execution of business development initiatives. Andre worked for Elektra records as an A&R prior to working for his dad. He worked with esteemed artists such as Gwen Stefani, Jay-Z, and Missy Elliott.

Magic married Earlitha “Cookie” Kelly in 1991 and soon after gave birth to Earvin Johnson III and adopted their daughter Elisa Johnson in 1995.
