Senator David Mark at 65: send your birthday wishes

Here is a golden opportunity: Nigeria’s Senate President, David Mark will clock 65 years on 8 April.
It is an opportunity to send him your birthday wishes; what you really think about him.

Born in 1948 as David Alechenu Bonaventure Mark, he has been the longest serving President of the Senate of Nigeria.

His era coincides with the time Nigerian senators and reps are the highest paid in the world, earning more salary than US congressmen and the President of the United States of America. Mark’s tea and sundry allowance is more than the salary of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

Senate President David Mark: 65 years old on Monday 8 April

An Idoma, he represents a constituency in Benue State.

Before his foray into politics, Mark was a military governor of Niger State and a former minister of communications, with his most memorable, probably most regrettable quote being: “the telephone is not meant for every Tom, Dick and Harry”. Anyway, thank God for the GSM. Everybody now owns the telephone in Nigeria!.

Mark attended St. Francis Catholic Practising school in Otukpo before attending the Nigerian Military School.
Mark was elected to his position as President of the Senate of Nigeria on June 6, 2007.
Mark was once involved in a very expensive divorce, with a former wife.

He enjoys golf, tennis, and squash. He is a Christian.

President Goodluck Jonathan has praised David Mark for consistently demonstrating “exceptional patriotism” and capably leading the National Assembly into a productive partnership with the executive arm of the Federal Government in the overriding interest of national progress and development.

At 65, David Mark needs to hear the truth from the Parliament of the Nigerian people.

Send him your birthday wishes, now!

GOD WILL PUNISH ALL THE DEVIL IN NIGERIA.

Why do Nigerians like celebrating mediocrity, what has another criminal birthday that stole Nigerian Money to buy the Best Golf course in Scotland got to do with the price of Fish and the challenges Nigerians are going through.

This Op's mind must be very shallow.

Oh dear me, what a mindset. .....Loooool

Get a life plssssssss.

Why I didn’t celebrate birthday – Mark

ABUJA— SENATE President, David Mark, said yesterday that he decided to mark his birthday low key, for the first time in his life, because of the massive killing of Nigerians by the Islamist sect, Boko Haram.

He also said his recent visit to the Vatican further exposed him to the reality that one should be able to help the poor, less privileged and vulnerable in the society.

Speaking during his 65th birthday thanksgiving Mass at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Otukpo , Benue State, Mark noted that that if there must be sustainable peace and unity in the country, prayer must be seen as the panacea.

He also urged religious leaders across the country not to relent in their oars in this regard.

According to him, what the nation needed at this most trying moments of itshistory was fervent prayers to overcome the myriad of challenges, especially insurgencies that had crippled parts of the country.

Senator Mark, who noted that no nation made progress in a state of acrimony, said:
“We should be more prayerful for our nation. We need peace in Nigeria, where there is no peace, there will be no democracy and no reasonable development can be attained. With our prayers, we can achieve more.”
