Get hold of treasury bills or invest the fund in landed properties.

You can also buy gold with them, gold mostly appreciates.

Buy children education policy from a good insurance company with good partial maturity plans that can help u have access to fund without touching ur normal income to continue their schooling and total maturity when they eventually gain university admission.

Avoid insurance policies for children.

Get them into blue chip stocks and dividend reinvestment.

You can also invest in something you know . . like Disney,Heinz,Walmart,Merck etc
and let it sit. My mother-in-law started a UTMA acct for my daughter and she cannot

Hello, the best thing I'd advice is that u contact a stockbroker/portfolio manager. He can offer u a plan that is specifically mentioned to the needs u stated above. They myt offer a guaranteed income on investment depending on d plan and since u r intersted in having some cash every three months, treasury bills and other money market securities may b d best bet.
More so, an educational insurance policy wouldn't be a bad idea but I doubt if d 3months return needs will work out though u can try contacting an insurance company to look through their various policies and if they can make a tailord plan suited to ur needs.

(hold it for 10years at least) buy plots of land in your state of origin, fully document it, lease it out to farmers, and make sure its near a state capital. Buy it in your childrens name if u please. This could take as much as 60% of the funds and its very ok

2. Stocks.
(for at least five years) buy and hold like 3 or 4 presently undervalued stocks on the NSE in food/beverages, banking, or petroluem sectors. Make sure such company has good dividen/bonus track record and they are fully multinational in nature and as old as 30years. this should take over 25% of ur fund.
