Not less than five women have been allegedly raped while several others were beaten to death by herdsmen in Ihie/Umuapu communities of Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State.
The incident, it was gathered, followed the alleged invasion of the area by the cattle rearers. In a protest match to the Imo State House of Assembly Wednesday, the communities called on Governor Rochas Okorocha to look into the activities of herdsmen in their communities.
Spokesman of the communities, Evangelist Christian Alihie, alleged that a similar incident occurred in the area last year. He further alleged that the herdsmen also rob people of the area of their valuables.  Addressing the protesters, the member representing Ohaji/Egbema in state House of Assembly, Luke Chukwu, decried the activities of the Fulani herdsmen, while calling on government to intervene immediately.
 Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Donatus  Ozoemena, on his part urged the people to remain peaceful, saying government will look into the matter.
But a herdsmen who identified himself simply as Musa, denied the allegation, saying instead that people of the communities are always assaulting herders.

Isn't this stale news? I remember posting on this same issue about two years ago. Maybe someone is trying to cause conflict between Igbos and Fulanis by digging up this old story!

If indeed the story is true; and all the villagers could do was go on a protest match and appeal to Rochas for help, then the randy murderous Herdsmen should finish off the entire pathetic community.....where i suppose there a no real men anymore; the Herdsmen are welcome to the whole village, as they're tainting the gene pool!

The last time this happened in one of the Middle Belt states- Benue I suppose, some South-East Ichie were singing war songs and saying stuffs like this dare not happen in the South-East. Well, here we are, its happening, this time, its even worse, because unlike in Benue, the herdsmen did not avenge the death of their kind, they raped women of the South-East community concerned and the men and warriors of those community gallantly and with intrepid disposition payed the Fulani's eff up with the most bilious treatment they have in their menu****************by protesting**********how pathetic. This is the worse thing that could happen to a man, your wife is being raped in your very before and the rapists are known to you, and what do you do? Protest!!!!
Heard that in Congo, the LRA rebels use that tactics to show they have dealt the enemy soldiers a complete defeat, by raping dem gals and wyfees. Waiting to see the Ichies speak now. Igbo kwenu!

^^^Shut up fool! Provide links to the 2nd, 3rd and other times this happened in the south east (not counting the civil war, when you animals went all out to showcase your primitive savagery......which you'd rather was left forgotten under the carpet). How come one doesn't hear from you when Igbos retaliate like happened sometime last year (in either Ebonyi or Enugu.....can't remember which now). If you must know, this is a regurgitated story from about 2 years ago, and i'm still wondering the reason for digging it up.
