@Onnari and all the teachers, thanks for sharing your knowlegde so generously. My dress is finished (still need to hem and attach buttons), but it looks fabulous on me even if I say so. My hubby was suitably impressed.  I'll add pictures to this post as soon as I get someone to take me with the dress. ETA: Pictures updated, I still need to hem to knee length.

So far we'v only got about 5 votes- we need a bit more to be clear on the piece to use for this month. Please ppl vote- voting ends on the 15th of this month. This is a jacket and a bit more complex than the previous dresses so we'll need TIME thus the rest of the 15 days of the month for everyone-. Thnx! |

Ankara fabric, underlinning,fabric stay,shpoulder pads,buttons, short zippers(only if you wanna), contrasting fabric for the cuffs(it don't have to be black),notions. See u guys later-have a great day! |

Based on the photo u posted of yourself, I'd say btw 1.5 and 2 yards of ankar, seeing that it's long sleeved +has a continuous lapel+would be lined half way in front in ankara. If u using another fabric that comes in a width of 60" you'd use less. Ankara is 45" wide. The zippers r really short,kinda like the ones used for ur jeans trousers. |

Onnari long time,I love the jacket choice, and yes,i am interested in instructing,but I may not activelly post till after the 29 th of sep coz I would be busy getting ready to showcase some of our stuffs at the Nigerian Television Fashion Show,(NTFS) I want to use this medium to invite you all fashion lovers to come see the fashion show too and get lots of inspiration for our "sew along thread" I shall be giving invites to any interested.I added this only because it relates to fashion o!,I would hate to step out of line as we have been warned many times Pls onnari like we did before when u shared the instructors parts ,maybe I should go last so that I can meet up.thanks |
