The general cut off is to create a pool from which a selection will be made based on a higher departmental cut off. Departmental cut offs differ based on state of origin so someone from Sokoto may enter medicine for example with 184 while someone from Rivers with 248 will be left out because over 7 people from Rivers had above 248 and the Rivers quota may just be 5. Its really complex but logical so relax, let the cut offs start rolling out.
