A former Super Falcons Coach, Joseph Ladipo, is dead. The former Shooting Stars Chairman, popularly referred to as Jossy Lad, died on Thursday afternoon in Ibadan after a long illness. Before his death, Jossy Lad was placed on life support machine at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan but was later discharged. That picture of him laying on that dirty, torn and rusty contraption is very disheartening and disturbing. This is meant to be inside a specialist hospital ? God help Nigeria.This amplifies why patriotism has gone to the winds in Nigeria. Should a man of his stature and contribution to our sports be accorded such treatment? (no pun intended) To think he was even wearing our national colours. Why must we celebrate the dead? It's time we start honouring our living heroes. What a loss! |
