Enter Pellegrini and another vicious grasp for the title. Mancini should have seen it coming.

CFCfan: That is just cruel from the Man City management. Mancini deserved more time in the job.

Anyway, it seems the coast is now clear for Pellegrini to take the Man City job

They gave him enough time, the guy lacks what's needed to take Man. city to the next level...

He should have been sacked time ago! - he's the 2nd coming of Claudio Ranieri....

Afam4eva: Why have they sacked him? Are they Madrid or barca? They're not happy he helped them win their first premiership title and helped them place second this yea thereby qualifying them for UEFA.

That's not the issue.
The issue is that he entered into an agreement with Man-city and he didn't meet up.

He had to be let off!

Remember, while the contract ran, he was given all the necessary assistance needed.

The man makes some really poor decisions most times, they should have defeated tottenham and kept their title dream alive but his poor decisions cost them that match.

Well,he was actually sacked immediately he lost the fa cup. This just the media part. Had he got the league, fergie wouldn't have retire now, but wait another season. The two manchester giants with new managers can force a new twist in the league. We just don't know to whose favour.

Monaco? - Monaco is in the French 2nd division...

Anyway, he has no excuse for not winning this year's EPL..

He had the best team by far in the EPL this season but he failed to coach them to success and losing to Wigan at the FA cup final is just unacceptable with the calibre of players playing for Man City. Everyone saw it coming and it was just a matter of time, to be honest..

I think Monaco will be in Ligue 1 next season; that was why he was even remotely linked with the club.

manchini did very well domestically. man city was never a top 4 club. even with the billions spent nobody should have expected him to dethrone the more established quartet of liverpool, arsenal, chelsea and man united so fast. these 4 clubs are not there for play, so in england he did very well. my problem with him was in europe. he always had the misfortune of being in the groups of death in the champions league and i could pardon him for not qualifying to the second round after just 2 attempts but gaining only 3 points without even a home victory was just pathetic. anyway i would have given him one more chance to make the QF in europe. do not worry manchini you will get another big job sooner rather than later.

Been expecting this for so long... this guy has added nothing to this team. Despite all the arsenal he has at his disposal. He has the best team in d EPL, with a second team that can even stand as a first team in some other clubs, yet he keeps complaining about having a scanty squad. You have d likes of Jarvi Garcia, Silva, Toure and Barry in your midfield, and you still think u needed a rookie like Rodwell.
You have a star-studded squad like that yet you still think sinclair is the missing link in ur team. Wat manner of coach is that please?

Best midfield, best attack, and one of the better defenses - yet he failed woefully..

Yeah, they should if they keep winning... But they've been rubbish of late..

However, I doubt they have the money to employ him - PSG is the only rich club in Ligue 1..

Why sack him when he now has the chance to dominate the league for a couple of seasons with SAF's exit? These big money clubs still neglect the fact that money alone doesn't win trophies. Oh well, it's good news for the other top teams.

Too sad men. Mancini really tried for our team. Shocking.

I remember the joy he brought:

He helped us win Fergie/Man Utd 1-6 at Old Trafford.
Beat Man Utd in 2011 in the FA Cup at Wembley stadium at the Semi Finals.
Won The FA Cup in 2011.
Won the First Premeir league.

We will miss you Mancini.

Coming second in the EPL and making it to the FA Cup finals in the same season isn't beans. How is that performing Woefully?

He asked the board for Reinforcements with the exodus of players from Man City including Adebayor, Shawn Wright Phillips, Adam Johnson etc. He wanted Van Persie, De Rossi and some other players. Yet he got none.

His biggest mistake was not dropping Joe Hart for Pantilimon this season. Joe Hart caused us a lot of games like the Liverpool game, Southhampton, Real Madrid first leg, the FA Cup finals against Wigan.

Well all the best to Mancini.

Yeah... a job in Italy, not in any of the top clubs in Europe. Dude, are u for real? U said Mancini shot City to the lime light? do u have any idea the amount of pounds this guy has spent in his entire three and half years at City in procuring players from all around Europe? Yet you expect him not to be up there with the high and mighties jostling for the champions league crown? Give Moyes 30 million pounds and see what he would have done with that everton team, or hand Wenger 50 million pounds and see what his team will turn to.

he will get another big deal before the next season begins and also city will pay him off with a whooping sum of at least 20 million pounds, but still the sack was cruel. anyways we do not have to feel pity for him, rather he should feel pity for us here on nairaland!

Man he ended a 35 years drought at the club. Sad.

Well Txiki and Soriano (the new Barca executives at Man City) want the club to have the total football possession philosophy. That isn't Mancini's pattern, so he has to go for them to bring in a coach in that Model.

Pound for pound and player for player - can you compare the Man utd team that won the EPL with that Man City team?

That's all you need to know and why he's deemed a massive failure by all football heads...

The bolded is valid. Maybe City may have drawn/beaten Real madrid in that first game. Madrid themselves are regretting why Diego Lopez didn't start games in the 1st half of the season.

Yes. If you take into the injury crisis this season. Aguero was out almost the whole season, Yaya went for the nations cup and came back injured. Kompany was out injured for almost the whole season. We are left with an ineffective Nasri, Zabaletta, Tevez and Dzeko.

Forget the millions hype. Man City is my team and I know the weak points. Our strength lies in Kompany, Yaya, Silva and Aguero. When once these guys are not functioning, the team is average.

bro it's not easy. this is man city not chelsea or arsenal. even if he spent 1 billion pounds, man u and chelsea have spent before him and are more establised. man u and chelsea can equally buy whoever they want. it's just like spending billions on valencia, yes you should expect them to do wonders in 2 years but spend billions on a getafe they can never work the miracle in less than 3 or 4 years. manchini should have been given one more season. if alex fergusson was treated this way, all the parade happening at old trafford tonight would never have happened.
