Top Five: Worst Premier League Teams by SexyPooja1(m): 6:28pm On May 14, 2013
We look at the five worst point’s tallies the Premier League has ever seen
5. IPSWICH TOWN F.C. | 1994-1995 | 27 POINTS
Manager George Burley was at the helm for this atrocious Premier League campaign in which Ipswich amassed 27 points playing four more games than now as it was a 22 club league at the time. With a goal difference of -57 and losing 29 games it is evident that the Ipswich defence was simply not good enough.
Ipswich’s season to forget peaked with the 9-0 drubbing by Manchester United, which is still a Premier League record.

4. WATFORD F.C. | 1999-2000 | 24 POINTS

Newly promoted Watford accepted that the most likely thing to happen was a relegation battle but no one, including them, saw what was going to happen. Six wins, six draws and 26 losses with a goal difference of -42 are the facts on what was a disastrous season for Graham Taylor.
Early positive victories against Liverpool and Chelsea were not enough as Watford were relegated with the then-lowest amount of points ever in the Premier League only averaging 0.63 goals a game.

3. SUNDERLAND A.F.C. | 2002-2003 | 19 POINTS
The first team ever to finish below 20 points in Premier League history and they went through three managers that season in an attempt to change things - obviously for the worse. Their top scorer ended the season on six goals contributing to just over a third of the total goals.
They managed 18 of their 19 points before Christmas and only one after and ended the season with fifteen successive defeats. West Ham, who were also relegated that season, managed to get twice as many points as them.

2. SUNDERLAND A.F.C. | 2005-2006 | 15 POINTS
Winning only three games all season and their top scorer amassing a whopping total of four goals meant that Sunderland went down with the then-worst Premier League campaign ever.
They averaged 0.38 goals a game losing 29 of 38 Premier League games. What's more their season culminated in a 4-1 defeat against bitter rivals Newcastle. A season to forget for Sunderland fans.

1. DERBY COUNTY F.C. | 2007-2008 | 11 POINTS
The most recent and most appalling Premier League campaign saw Derby winning only one game in 38 matches and scoring only 16 goals in the entire season. Averaging only 0.32 points a game it was never in doubt that Derby's relegation from England's top league was justified.
The only team ever to go down in March and it was down to a lack of investment in a squad that would have been almost glad to see the back of the Premier League.
