Abia State Begins Verification And Authentication of C’s of O

Abia State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Renewal has commenced the verification exercise and authentication of purpose clause in the certificates of occupancy of all classes of developers in the state.

This is due to flagrant abuse and conversion of assigned uses in the certificates of occupancy by some property owners without the consent of the state Government.
In a press conference in Umuahia, Commissioner for Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Renewal, Donatus Okorie said that the illegal and unilateral change of purpose clauses as enshrined in Certificate of occupancy and building permits has resulted in the growth of formless, unplanned and disorderly settlements in the urban areas which would no longer be condoled by the Government.

He,therefore appeal to all property owners to co-operate in this verification exercise to avoid the confiscation and revoke of their property.
