Mbaise people especially the catholics among them will on thursday,May 16,2013 storm the streets in droves to protest the "imposition" of Monsignor Peter Okpalaeke from Awka Diocese in Anambra State as bishop-elect of the large Ahiara Diocese of Mbaise.The elected Bishop who will be installed on Tuesday May 21,2013 has faced stiff rejection from some Mbaise lay faithfuls,clergy and clan who will march from their respective parishes in the Diocese to the Mother of the Church Cathederal,Ahiara Diocesan headquaters in their black attires on thursday,May 16,2013 where there will be prayers for God's intervention in what they describe as grave injustice and high-handedness in the imposition of a bishop on them.


In another developement,the leaders of Nnarambia Community in Ahiara which hosts the Ahiara Diocesan Headquaters, Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State,has released a press statement signed by Nze Laz Njoku(Eze's Cabinet Member,Nnarambia),Chief Reginald Udunze(Chiarman,Aladinma Nnarambia) and Chief F.A Adi(Traditional Prime Minister of Nnarambia) alleging the consequencies of any face-off between demonstrators and planned use of police and armed soldiers during the planned installation.
