I perceived that it'd be kinda harder modelling in sketchup since it's mostly made to make straight shapes. I'm still contemplating if I should be concerned about making models with sketchup or autodesk inventor

if you re making mechanical models, Inventor is wayyyyy better.... don't know how good the rendering is though, you could try blender if you re not so concerned about accuracy.....FUSION 360 is a very good one too. these are the apps I would use when I am fully ready to go deep into CG.....sketchup for architectural modelling ( I might learn 3dsmax too), blender for product designs (learning it already), zbrush for organic forms or character modelling and vray for rendering all the way
