I agree. Eagles ahrdly lose when they are in do-or-die. The undoing usually come from accummulated past performance and when their destiny is no longer in their hands.

In 2005, 2006 WC qualifiers, Eagles needed to win last matches. They scored 5 goals each against Zimbabwe and Morocco, the latter at home. But it was too much too late. The draw they played against Angola in Kano earlier had slipped their destiny out of their hands.

The return leg in Kano was draw, not loss. And they won the next two matches with 5 goals each in Harare and Casablanca. But it was too late as Angola also won theirs. Yet Eagles had everything (same point, more goals, more goal difference) more than Angola, but lost out on head to head rule. That was teh last time I almost wept for Nigerian national team (October 2005).

I agree. That 2-point loss in Calabar may be our undoing. But at least, we still have our destiny in our hands (still leading the group), so winning the next 2 matches will be enough.

Fact: The last time Nigeria lost a World cup
Qualifier was in June 2004, to Angola.
Also, Keshi has not lost a competitive match since his appointment.

Reading thru the comments and originally intened declining to comment until I saw this load of rubbish. Who are the Black Star open their mouth when the Super Eagles are being mentioned. I'd remind u that in fact, stars aren't black, maybe that's the source of ur failure. Football is a cycle and ur primitive mind should by now accept that it's Nigeria's time.

Anyway, it'll be a tough match with few or no recognised striker. However I expect a resounding victory for the African Champions.
